It's always great seeing another old locomotive get a second lease on life

Another step in EL #3372 repairs and restoration. All that's left to do now is repair the HEP generator and EL #3372 will be back in operational condition

I remember when they dragged this thing out of storage, it's AWESOME to see a big U-boat come back to life!

Steam or diesel, it doesn't matter. It's always awesome to see and hear all the effort put into making a locomotive run again. Beautiful looking U-Boat.

Amazing! The Erie Lackawanna is my favorite Railroad! So cool to see this locomotive start up after 30 years! Great catch!😎👍

I know those locomotives used to run Spring Valley, New York to Hoboken. I remember going with my father to pick up my mother at the train station and seeing those engines with the Erie diamond on the nose. So I would assume that they would have been running from Port Jervis as well, as it was all MTA/NJ Transit.

@Alco16-251F3 сағат бұрын
@@OfficialSEIC2K6 it really does. This locomotive along with Delaware Lackawanna Alco C-636 3642 are the last of their type to ever survive into preservation. And they have the exact same type of horn. Leslie S3Ls

Beautiful! Im used to U boats chugging along in regular service up and down the rails on a somewhat daily basis. I live by the Minnesota commercial railway and they still use them along with some B39-8s and a few other older ge units. These sound amazing when they get down to business with a heavy load and the turbo spools up! These beasts definitely have an attitude problem trust me!😂

Awesome to see a bluebird alive again. Hope it can pull some excursion trains and run its HEP generator. Would love to hear the high rev idle with the unique flat throttle up sound again

It’s not the dirty exhaust that does the damage, it’s the 100’s of millions of cars around the planet that are doing that job.

Brilliant, can someone tell me what is the H for in the U34CH
@rearspeaker6364Күн бұрын
Head End Power, added to its main alternator. more on Wikipedia.
@OfficialSEIC2K6Күн бұрын
H is for Head End Power. Head End Power was majorly utilized in the U34CHs which is why they have that name
@AppalachianMountaineer1863Күн бұрын
HEP, Head End Power, U34CHs were the first of the U34Cs built by GE so they have a legacy in that regard as well.

@@Coloribus2004 you said it, this and Delaware Lackawanna 3642 are both pieces of history that have been brought back to life. DL 3642 is the last ever Alco C636 to remain and operate in the US just like this classic U-boat here is the last of its type to ever survive and operate.
