the drums were run through the 4-710d and probably through inputs 5-8 on the Apollo. this leaves 3&4 for the voice and the congas.

Yea I know. Wouldnt be as cool to say" Finally we also managed to make the UAD Plugins work in real time" ;-) When UAD would also make highest quality Synth Plugins like SCOPE, it would be a real competitor.

There is always latency. Low latency is great. No latency is impossible. This looks and sounds like a great product. If you haven't used UA gear yet, start saving your pennies and get some. (lotta pennies.... )

Wait. So, the drums are using the 4 mic pres, but also the bass/rhodes is going thru the DI inputs, even though the DI inputs are only on channel 1/2??? The sounds like false information in the video, when he's discussing the audio routing scheme in the video.

Just letting PC users know that the Apollo drivers for windows are now held up futher. The latest update, which took months to appear on the UA website now says expected last quarter of 2012. Universal Audios support for windows users continues to be sorroful and likely will not change. Don’t waiste your time waiting for this one if you are a PC user.

I think workflow is a very personal thing. I find Windows very much straightfoward and easy. There are some PC's that are built specifically for audio performance, or you can build your own for half the cost(which will perform better by quite a margin). Such computers will run you alooot less plus you can choose what you need or dont. For the advanced user this is very redeeming. Many music software actually has alot of problems in OSX, for example Cubase in PC is much better than OSX.

About people having problems with Windows so far I have had none that include software issues, and as far as I know the only real hardware difference between Mac and PCs is the motherboard, which frequently I have seen dead on many Mac Laps and Desks.

Well for me, a working DAW (with a working interface of course) is everything I need to switch to Linux. And luckily there is much much more than Ubuntu (the GUI of which I personally don't like either). If anything, there's a good reason Linux is being used on like 70% of the servers and 90% of supercomputers.

SCOPE has excelend reverbs! Lexicon hahaha....Mixing in SCOPE is also on very high level compared to native for example! I also can track with every SCOPE Plugin! Also Live Synthesis of highest qualiy. I compared a lot of EQs Compressors and Reverbs, and while native Plugins getting better, i like many SCOPE Plugins much more. I cannot compare to UAD cause i dont have one, but I dont believe that their EQs and such are that far ahead in quality!They have much better marketing and advertisement.

Not really - I have the RME UFX and The Apollo interface - and Will actually say I like my RME more. Reason: The preamps on the UFX are aswell super clean - and further more. Yes you get the dsp UAD plugin option. But the cost of the plugins you actually need to get similar to the system in the video is really expensive $ Dont get me wrong this is a top product and I really enjoy my apollo - but its not better then the UFX other than the thunderbolt future product (the reason I still have mine)

If you wanna get a Scope Card I would only recomment a Pulsar 2 or Powerpulsar( also called Scope). Pulsar 2 has 6 DSPs and Powerpulsar 15 DSPs. I have 27 DSPs in total cause you can link those Cards! Dont buy a Luna, its not enough DSP power(3DSPs). Go to Planetz.com and look for used Cards, they are cheap! Good luck

Wow I was on the UA site, and saw that these Plugins are not even made by Roland Lexicon ect. but by UA. Do you really think they are so spezial? Just algorithms made by someone in the end. SCOPE has also people making high quality algorithms, just like native world. Just don´t get int a hype cause of clever marketing. I for shure think their plugins are great, but they are really not the only great plugins!

How about East West play for OSX? It wont work....To state that the entire audio industry caters to mac is such a huge mistake. I think you are biased and should do a bit of researching. There is ALOT more IO(and customization) options in PC, I think your just talking about 1k less stock pcs vs 3000+ mac pros which is such a bad comparison. The sound card on the Mac Pro is trash compared to a professional grade sound card to start with.

You are making too many assumptions, Mac's OSX has no more functionality than Windows. Mac has been measured in audio performance vs windows performance and actually windows stands taller and better. You can google this or simply check DAWbench. Stability on Windows 7 is right on the spot, and your talk about pricing is very wrong. If you are comfortable using Mac as your tool, well that's wonderful however, I would suggest against acting all hipster-ish and giving misleading information.

Here's a thought for all you PC users out there, dump your piece of crap PC and come join the rest of us here in the 21st century and buy a MAC!!!! If your are creating music, movies, or art of any kind you must do so on a MAC!! It's intuative, it's easy to use and everything looks and sounds great!! But it's too expensive compared to PC's!
