Hey Chris. I know very little about this game other than what I've observed so I may be wrong but I've watched another KZbinr named BrotherMunro who is very knowledgeable about the game. He takes over tons of territories after every war by wholly supporting naval invasion with his secondary/non main ships and sends his main ships into the engagements to destroy transports and capital ships. He's doing an Austria run now where he is gobbling up Italy and other nations in one war by just participating in these naval invasions. Might be something to look at so you can take more territory quicker. Just a thought. Love the series regardless.

You said you would look into Shogun 2 after the Sengoku Jidai videos on the main channel, can't wait to see that. Total War games, especially some of the older titles, are some of the best RTS/TBS games out there. Highly recommend the Fall of the Samurai DLC, civil war era guns, cannons, and my absolute favorite, Ironclads.

Could you play Frostpunk 2 sometime? It's a strategy and resource management game, you also play as a leader of New London and need to balance the government and different factions/interest groups to maintain stability of the city and expand outwards. I think you'd really enjoy it!

So an interesting fact: there were two schools of thought on WWI battlecruisers. They intersected at speed, but the English battlecruisers were up-gunned and german battle cruisers were better armored but mainly carried 10 or 11 inch main batteries. As it turns out the better protection made the difference at the battle of jutland between the opposing battle cruiser squadrons. And the Hood blowing up is a bit of a trope. She was less armored than bismark but not so much that the two were incomparable in terms of belt and citadel protection. And she would have been completely refit had the admiralty actually decided not to keep her at sea her entire life. It is a contentious subject, but even she as a battle cruiser didnt have terrible protection.

1:30 for it to not change target i believe you can CTRL + rightclick to just select one target and will stay on that target, a little late but i hope you still see this

16:09 the speed is reduced from the sea state. The smaller ships are affected more by the bad sea state so CL and DD have reduced speed if the wave condition is high, especially compared to the impact on BB. I once seen my DD drop their max speed from 40 to 32 because the seas stated.

On the automatic switching of targets, the AI doesn't do it with player assigned targeting. So re-issue AI commands yourself if you really like what it is doing.

I'm disappointed that we'll be seeing less of this, with bigger gaps. IMO too much was missed already, at least for those of us who follow the strategy instead of just "exciting thing go bang" viewing. It's far more difficult to follow the campaign when the coverage gets so low, and that is pretty much the point that is getting lost.
