Dr. James Karl Kirklin speaks in the video of his father's legacy. Dr. Kirklin (Jr.) performed 3 open heart surgeries on me. I've just had my 4th performed by Dr. James Davies, also at UAB. Dr. Kirklin (Jr.) is now retired and does academia work. I'm very blessed to have known this fabulous surgeon and the legacy of his and his father's work as it has touched my life in a remarkable way.

I worked with his father and the other surgeons that he mentioned, from '76 to '80. All had world renowned talents and pioneering techniques that I felt proud to be part of during those early years of heart surgery.

I worked with Dr Jim Kirklin and what an honor. Dr Albert Pacifico. We all learned a lot and the progress that has come from that is amazing.
