Ok...I'm intrigued by the comment about running the Dream through the effects loop of the HX Stomp. Would love to see a video on how to set that up.

Done this with my dream since long ago. At one point, i run it stereo with ruby via the fxloop of hxstomp. Hx stomp is a great coz u can switch the polarity on one! (Dream and ruby polarity arent aligned. Should switch one side) Oh u can also delay one side few miliseconds to have a cool HAAS effect going on!

@@RPMusicStudios I run the Lion on its own with a preset set for distortion when I want it and the Dream with my wet effects (Mood, Microcosm, and Blue Sky right now). Unfortunately I don't have a stereo set up but that's a future project.

I know this is a super old comment - but keep in mind that in real life, Marshals and Fenders are reversed polarity, and UAFX is so dedicated to recreating these amps that they actually modeled the correct polarity as well. This means if you run them parallel, you'll get weird phasing issues unless you flip the phase of one of the amps

Sounds great as usual. I just cannot justify that much for an amp in a box with the continuous improvement in multi-effects modeling and processing. Having said that, I still love my Green Russian JHS moscow Mule. So great on bass too. That Blood donor really sounds great. I love running Catalinbread that can at 12 or 18 volts for that headroom. It does sound like a fuzz meets distortion. I still use their Sabbra Cadabra currently.

Thanks! Yea I understand. Luckily the dream was on sale. Universal Audio is the Apple of audio with their pricing. I haven’t tried running the blood donor at different voltages but I will now! I’m not ready to sell my tube amps. I figure 5 more years they’ll nail it or we’ll just get used to the amp sim sound.

I don't understand the settings on the dream - Treble and Bass are to 10? Is there a difference to both being at noon? And Boost is also at 10? And the Output is also almost at 10? I've never seen anyone dialing in tones with that settings. Can you explain why you chose the settings like this? Are there major tonal differences?

Thanks for your question. The settings are like that because I have the preamp (volume) which is the input stage almost at 0 to get the cleanest sound. Everything else is on 10 to get a fuller more life like tone. If the preamp (volume) was higher I would adjust accordingly. That’s how I preferred the dream for my style

@Rpmusicstudios Did you pair them in stereo at all? Like a lot of people do with the Dream and Ruby? I have all three, and working up a ampless option where I run Dream/Ruby or Dream/Lion in stereo.

I have tried that. Actually I was experimenting tonight with 1 reverb and fuzz with Lion and 1 reverb and fuzz with the dream and it sounded huge. I’m actually working on a video for that next!

@@RPMusicStudios Awesome. Next week I'm hoping to do some testing to decide my final setup. I have a hunch the Dream and Lion will pair better then Lion and Ruby. So I'll proboably run the Lion and Ruby in series and just turn off on or the other and always have the Dream on.

Yes! That middle Eq comes in handy on the lion but even without it the lion has more midrange.

I know this is an old comment - but in real life, Marshal amps and Fender amps are reversed in phase from one another. UAFX is so dedicated to accurately modeling these amps that they modeled the polarity as well. This means if you run them parallel, you can get really bad phasing issues. (I know this because I have both and have done this). You CAN do it, but you'll need another pedal that can flip the phase of one.

There's a bit more to it actually than you'd think at first glance! The Lion can simulate 3 different heads and up to 6 different cabs, meaning about 18 different tonal varieties. Because the dream is modeling fenders combo amps, it only has 6 different varieties. Also, regarding reverb, the Dream simulates Fender's spring reverb. The Lion has reverb too - but the lion's reverb simulates moving your mic further away from the speaker to capture in-room reverb. The dream also has tremolo built in, whereas the lion does not. Those are the main differences! Many reasons to get one or the other - or both! ;)

Don't need one over the other get them both you will have your gain amp and your clean amp.
