Excellent video! One of my favorite cases. UAG is the best brand. High quality and protection. Actually I have the Civilian case in my iPhone Pro Max. I had the Pathfinder Camo and I loved it!

Hi Chong Xu! I don't think that the Plasma is going to be any lighter than the Pathfinder, although it should be lighter than the Monarch. Not sure which UAG cases you are comparing it against?

Very good looking cases & protective but i thing they have to work on their grip side & back especially with the Pathfinder & Plasma, i own the Pathfinder & it feels a little bit slippery.

I have the plasma and it offers great drop protection, but also gets lots of dust and particles underneath which causes lots of scratches on the top and bottom side of the phone.

So sorry to hear it, Pavel! Trapped dust can definitely cause scratching over time. 😢 Ideally, you should take your case off periodically and clean both case and phone…

@@TheTechReviewer I clean it from time to time, but still after 4 years, the phone isscratched up on all the corners. Also after 3 years, the rubber unglued from the plastic so I had to glue it back. I just got S23 Ultra and I'm going with Spigen or Supcase for this one.

Thank you for this older video as I am looking for a new decent case for my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I am only having a hard time deciding if I want the “Plasma” case in either “Ice” or “Ash”. I have a silver (or white really) IPhone 11 Pro Max and I think the darker ash would really set off the color looking more prestigious? 🤷‍♂️

Tough call! Both are going to look good, in my opinion. As a lady, I tend to like brighter colors, so I’d personally go with the icy white effect of the Clear on a silver phone, but the Ash will look great too…just more subdued…

Yes I feel the ash looks a little more boring but thought perhaps the “ICE” color against the White IPhone in person would stand out too much…but I admit sometimes as a guy I do love to stand out :)>…but judging by this video it really looks beautiful with the white iPhone 11…almost as if it was indeed designed for the white (Silver) IPhone in the first place.😎 I am also having a hard time finding the “ICE” version in stock where there are so many more “ash” versions in stock…perhaps a message there on looks? So…there it is…very well…let it be ICE. :)>

Thanks for your review! Always interested in two things. The official website uag writes that uag pathfinder has two layers of protection, and uag plasma has 3 layers of protection. What is this 3 layer on uag plasma?) I only see polycarbonate and tpu. And second, uag plasma has a hard back inside. Will it damage the back of the phone if it falls on its back? From this point of view, it seems to me that pathfinder is more secure, not to mention monarch

Hi Boriz! I hear you...not sure where that third layer is. And the Pathfinder does seem like it might be a bit more protective in a fall than the Plasma, although UAG doesn't rate them any differently. Personally, I think that UAG under-rates its cases for drop protection. They only rate them for mil-spec standards, which is for 26 drops at a 4 ft drop height. Even the Monarch is still rated for a 4 ft drop...just for twice as many drops (52 rather than 26). Compare that to Speck's 13 ft drop protection or RhinoShield 11 ft drop protection! I personally doubt that Speck's or RhinoShield's cases are that much more drop protective than UAG's. But I don't do drop testing personally, so I can't give you any evidence to back that claim up!

Maybe CASETiFY Impact? I really enjoyed using that on my iPhone 12 Pro. The SolidSuit is also a fantastic case, but it has been completely redone, from what I understand, so I'm not sure what the 12 Pro Max version will be like now. If it is like the 14 Pro version (and it looks like it is, from the pictures online), then it should be pretty fantastic. The Limitless 4.0 was a great case, but the Limitless 5.0 is significantly better and unfortunately the Limitless 5.0 isn't available for the 12 Pro Max. And I don't think you can go wrong with the OtterBox Symmetry Series+. Awesome case!

Hi Eddie! The materials on the Plasma/Pathfinder aren't grippy, but I find all the jutting out corners and griplines to make the cases secure enough in the hand. The Monarch is probably the least slippy, though...
