The proposed use of specialized help in the forms of training and maintenance by different companies, countries only makes sense. Ukraine doesn't have the population in the country to do everything needed to maintain the equipment and fight too. This has been done for decades, providing training and maintenance for a country defending itself. This should free up the Ukranian military forces from what's essentially guard duty to learn how to fight much more effectively. I find it frustrating that various governments are so fearful, so hesitant to DO something constructive. 🇺🇦💙🔱

The use of troops as a fighting force would open the door to the countries becoming "belligerents" which in turn would put those people in the countries at risk. Training, maintenance, logistics can be done as a type of assistance that's actually been ongoing for a decade. The only difference is the training and maintenance is done in Ukraine, not outside.

Ukraine has received F16s, GMLRS dispersion ammunition, Storm Shadows, satellite data, Bradleys, Patriots etc. The artillery shells and rockets that North Korea sends to Russia are mostly from the 1970s. The disparity, in terms of quality and quantity, of the direct extrernal military aid is tremendously in favour of Ukraine compared to Russia. Also do you really think that Ukraine doesn't recruit foreign volunteers and mercenaries? Like Foreign legion e.g.

Once the anger and despair toward the US and its MO under both Biden and soon to be under the Orange man has subsided we Europeans and I include the UK in that because I'm talking about geographical Europeans not politically Europeans, are being offered an opportunity. It should have been done decades ago but we are where we are. Now we can build either a NATO of equal partnership with the US or sideline the US (my preference) as I question we can ever look at the US as a steadfast ally who will come to our aid regardless - it has to be viewed as they will come to our aid if it is politically and financially to their advantage and we can never count on them being there until the last shot is fired even if they do come early in the proceedings. So Europe needs to face the realities of taking responsibility for its own future or just submitting to a renewed Russian empire which will always be a pain in our combined arses.

Putin is playing Russian roulette with our lives. The symbolism of freedom, represented by Lady Liberty, seems to have lost its light. It's a tragedy. We in Europe are threatened with nuclear weapons from Russia. They often talk about escalations and red lines, as if our fate is a game. But action begets reaction, and that reaction can be more powerful than they expect. We cannot afford to leave with our shoulders slumped and our tail between our legs. Peace should never be synonymous with surrender, nor sovereignty with occupation. Fate determines life and death, victory and defeat. In the darkness lies danger, and in the depths of that darkness that danger thrives.

Good news. I have long been a supporter of allowing so-called military contractors from companies like Blackwater in the US, to go into Ukraine and beef up the ground forces there. The United States has long used and has spent millions on these kinds of contractors in Afghanistan, Iraq, parts of Africa,and who knows where all else. All of these contractors are veterans, in the case of Blackwater pretty much all US veterans, but after having done some research there are similar companies operating in France and other Western nations. Lord knows Ukraine needs these guys immediately if not sooner. Let me know what, if anything, you hear about this in the Ukrainian news you follow.

This is something I have been considering since it became clear Ukraine was going to survive to fight another day. Not thought of any particular company to fulfill this role (in fact would prefer it to be a coalition of states rather than shareholders but with no US officialdom involved at any stage though if US vets wish to enlist they'd be entitled to do so.) Two infantry brigades and one armoured brigades formed. One in NW Ukraine watching the Belorussian where the borders of Poland/Ukraine/Belarus meet. Another (inf) down hard up to the Moldovan/Ukraine border (along the length of the Russian annexation of Transnistria) and the armoured brigade based to the east of Lviv co located with an airbase. This would free up X number of Ukrainian rear units in order maybe not to send directly into combat more to rotate with soldiers needing some respite who have been in the brown and smelly stuff for far too long. It also lends an extra layer of security along the Ukrainian borders of NATO nations. Including any foolish notion the Russian could ever use the 2/3000 personnel they have or can airlift into Transnistria. A professional western Inf bde and the Armed Forces of Moldova would soon silence them and it's a grain of grit out of the Ukrainians boot and a boulder out of the Moldovan boot. The airbase to have hold say 36 F16's manned and supported by ex -F16 personnel of all trades from the various user nations who feel they would wish to serve in such. This would have to include sophisticaed air defences which would double up to also defend Lviv in time of need. Any gaps in any of these formation to be filled with Ukrainians who may be tempted into stepping back into Ukraine to serve under these conditions but are baulking for whatever reason to join outright the Ukrainian Armed Forces. There would be a training establish and Ukrainians could be enlisted and trainied to progressively take over the specialist roles as time and capabilities go on. No out and out need for the aircraft to be F16's of course but it seems to make sense until experience and superior European models can be produced to retrain and rearm with. Just makes sense to me as sending out a very clear and competent message to Russia how Europe could respond by increasing to a 2nd or even 3r div ot complicate their plans and maybe in time even take an aggressive attacking role if the government of Ukraine called for it.

Based on all of the past conflicts, the USA was not necessarily a defence partner that could always be trusted. If NATO wants to end the war favorable for Ukraine, sending ground troops is NOT the way! Use strategies that won FFS! Not ones that lost! Use the strategy of Kosovo. Did NATO forget about that conflict already?
@eddastrohmayer2513 күн бұрын
Do you want to compare tiny Kosovo with large Ukraine? Do you want to compare Serbia with Russia ? If "future generations" have not more than that "knowledge" and "wisdom", there will be no future. 🙃 Suppose you are a Brit who still lives in the 18th century ... 😂

Now I'm wondering if America will send troops. I'm trying to think of a war other than Vietnam that we, the USA, entered without first being directly attacked. Maybe Korea. Other than that, our nation has historically shied away from the "Han shot first" scenario. I am sure that Putin is aware of this. Nevertheless, with half a million American troops camped out on Russia's western border, along with another half million from European allies, it's pretty clear that Russia has zero hope of gaining anything from this insane war.
@asabovesobelow56832 күн бұрын
Korea?!?! North Korea is the one that attacked and started the war.

Good job, Europe! Do all you can to protect democracy and its principles. Don't allow putin's arrogance to destroy you. Your collaboration is stronger than the unstable usa. God bless 🇮🇱 and God bless Europe 🇪🇺 🙏 ❤️ 🙌 ♥️

The more that Ukraine can be self-reliant to manufacture the weapons it needs, the better off they will be, what this man is said that it is a two-way street is correct 💯, Ukraine has become if not the best one of the best at improvising and overcoming and making weapons that are out of the box, this I think would help all the countries that are by Ukraine, Sweden Norway Denmark the Netherlands Poland and all the other countries that were once under Russia and have been freed that are part of NATO, are seeing NATO likes to take, diplomatic to stop conflict, they are slow if at all to do things other than diplomatic, if a war breaks loose in that region again this is not needed and not helpful, so it may be up to the countries that are in that region to come together, to fight the aggressors.
