Gold refinery Company in Busia-Ministry Anite visits its works.

The state minister for finance in charge of Investment Evelyn Anite has assured Gold mining companies for a conducive environment in Uganda.
Minister was visiting Wagagai Mining U Limited the company that was cleared to build a Gold refinery in Uganda based in Busia district.

It is time for Africa to focus on domestic, including diaspora, investments to finance its resource development. Investments from African companies and businessmen will at least help to develop Africa. What big African companies are allowed to set up business outside the continent? Too much African wealth is leaving the continent and enriching foreign countries while the standard of living of Africans barely improve. The Ugandan government does not appear to be leveraging its huge natural resources intelligently. A 200 million dollar investment in your Gold industry in 2022 is not a big investment. These companies are making hundreds of billions of dollars profit off the backs of Ugandans. It’s time to tell the Ugandan people what percentage of these contracts are held by Uganda.

im a sceptic, first they will not decalre profits for years and so pay as little tax as possible, or option 2 is smuggling the gold or underdeclaring how much gold the smelt, why are africans in general so weak minded, why settle for mere royalty when you can own atleast half the asset,uzbekistan owns its gold mine and is amjor producer, also gold can be used as safety net for the ugandan shilling, you dont have to export evrything.
