i just tried this recipe and they came out very soft and chewy. I used honey instead of granulated sugar (i used half of the measurement of sugar in the recipe). It turned out great! My family loved it.

Hello, I've tried this recipe and it's so delish! 💜 The only problem is the cookies tend to get burnt at the bottom. I'm using electric oven, preheated for 10 minutes, the heat set at the bottom and my rack is in the middle, baking temp is at 170 Celsius for 15 minutes. Yet still it burns, can you recommend an oven setting? please send help 😅
@ghelinabox42811 ай бұрын
try to set your oven temp to up and down heat with fan on if you have convection oven coz thats how i usually set mine when baking😊

I definitely did something wrong because mine came out look muffin cookies! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 but I took out the halaya and it came out okay haha but thank you for this recipe!!
@teakandthyme11 ай бұрын
i think it has to do with the consistency of the halaya! if the halaya has too much moisture, they can turn out cakey 😔

do you have any advice on how to avoid making the cookies too cakey? ive tried multiple of your cookie recipes with much success but im having trouble with the ube cookies. for some reason they seem to rise quite a bit and the texture always ends up very soft and cake-like :(( idk what im doing wrong
@teakandthyme7 ай бұрын
it might have to do with the ube halaya you're using. cookies can be cakey if there's too much moisture in them so your halaya might have more liquid/moisture than others. i would recommend trying a different brand or using less!

@ReesealldayАй бұрын
Do i need to use food coloring because mine came out really light purple ??? Cookie was amazing though
@teakandthymeАй бұрын
i didn't add food colouring to mine. it all depends on the ube extract you used. some extracts have more vibrant colouring than others! if the dough looks too light in colour, you can add a bit more ube extract or gel food colouring if needed.
