You are right $267 for 15 hrs of work equates to about $17 per hour which is way below the legal minimum wage level of around $21 per hour. Plus you have not deducted the cost of car registration and depreciation or factor in cost of accidents. You also did not receive sick leave, superannuation or penalty rates for work shift hours in the middle of the night, on weekends and public holidays. You are subjected to verbal and physical abuse from customers who urinate and vomit in your car. Uber advertising says drivers receive about $40 per hour which is grossly misleading, they are an unscrupulous company who could not give a flying hoot about people who work for them. It is about time the government pulls them into line and stop using this legal loop hole to abuse Australian workers.

I do my own oil and oil filter changes. Cheaper and quicker to do yourself. Cost is around $50 to $90 depending on what oil you use.

It's on 219km. I recomend using a Toyota Camry hybrid for Uber. They are reliable will pass a Uber car inspection each year if looked after. Hybrids are great because you get say with my car 900km out of a tank regardless of the traffic condition and brake pads last for ever nearly. Cheers.

With Uber it's a total gamble. In winter it is quite during the week. Best to drive through Uber, Didi and Ola. To get consistent work. The weekend is best to drive as more busy. Cheers

It's up to the driver. Most Australians are not trouble makers and not really needed. When you have a customer in the car it's common sense to drive in a safely manner. It's a good idea in a way you are aboud to a car accident or something interesting happen from time to time. I've seen a guy pop a mono on a red motorbike from a set of lights from the opposite direction. Then get the bike to mono to high and then see his motorbike sliding down the road on it's side and him also. Then see his pissed off reaction!

@@DanLemur1 Year good to have an extra income on stand by. The weekend is the best time to drive as short wait time for rides, sunday nights the Melbourne Airport is busy. You can set the destination twice a day and do a few jobs on the way to where your going, and can claim car expenses on tax.

Uber is a good job on stand by if you have no other work lined up. But many hours I have put in, have been paid nothing or very little. Saturday is always busy but still need big fares and not be stuck in the traffic too much. Cheers.

I hate driving with Uber bro. It’s a dead company to work for due to their low fares and high commission. Customers most of the time fiddle with the car’s electric windows and radio. That annoys me and I tend to cancel trips often for this reason. My car, my rules. Terrible job.

You get paid depending on how many jobs you do and how many ks the trip is. Depending on traffic conditions and how expensive your car is on fuel and maintenance. Also speeding, parking fines, car accident damage. Time cleaning vehicle each day and after customer making a mess. How many hours you work, what time of the day. Aprox expect to make $120 after gst tax and expenses working around 7 to 8 hours and another 1 hour cleaning your car. Also you have to pay your superannuation with that and eventually save up for another car. And it needs to have a 5 star ANCAP compliant vehicle as well. I'm currently not driving for Uber and have released a mobile app called Play my audio and working another job as well. Cheers...

Now is the busiest time of the year for Uber. The best car is a Toyota Camry Hybrid, but are now very expensive to buy. The best days to drive is Saturday, but have to give up your weekend. The amount of days to drive is up to you to work out. After doing over 22,000 trips now I prefer to work a Monday to Friday job 40 hrs and have a life balance. I found to make a lot from Uber you need to work 7 days and wear your car down extremely quickly. My Camry hybrid was on 520ks after 4 1/2 years time, and was smashed and repaired many tmes. I use to make around $2,000 a week working 7 days for most of each day and had to pay all my overheads and taxes with that.

In Melbourne things are back to normal and also the traffic conditions very busy. Petrol price this week has gone back up to $2.13 a litre of petrol. With Uber you can try and decide your own work hours.

why are you paying 11.5 gst.? (n Uber driver Partner, you are required to be registered for and pay GST regardless of your level of income. Unlike most other businesses, the usual $75,000 GST registration threshold does not apply and you are required to account for 10% GST from the first dollar of income you earn on your Uber driver activities.)

Uber is a job that is a complete gamble. Unpredictable!! But always busier on the weekend. I find most people have a tight budget to spend on uber, so most rides are short. I have spoken to a uber black driver he does runs to and from the airport and city. Has a nice Audi. He gives clients his business card to do private jobs too.
