Uber Eats drivers claim they are exploited

The burgeoning food delivery business was one of the biggest winners during the lockdown. With all of us spending long periods at home, getting a hot meal delivered to your door was a real treat. Im in Orlando Fl and ubereats is taking advantage of drivers in America as well. We just got a pay decrease - YES a pay decrease a few weeks ago and the trick Uber now employs is - when they send you an order, they include the "expected" tip in the price so you dont really know what the delivery trip is. The base trips used to be $3 now we get under $2 for a delivery that could take up to 20 mins. Trip was $1.97 - so that means you can potentially make just under $6 per hour. Not even minimum wage. But who am I to complain right? I am choosing to work for them. So I just keep saying to myself that I need to make more money and the day is coming that I will be leaving them behind. Its disgusting the way they treat the people who can make or break their business.

You get paid r25 for parcel delivery R35 for food delivery, you have to pay your own petrol your own data.. I was paying takealot to deliver parcels for them I got paid next to nothing.. even sometimes didn't get paid my full salary I'll never work in this industry again... You people treat the drivers like shit..

The drivers are freelancers not employed by Uber. It's just an opportunity for ordinary people to earn extra cash not too make it a career. That is the purpose of ehaling.
