You hear sooo many horror stories and negative press about SA. But the real truth is that 95% of the people are just like Graeme and his wife, who will go out of their way to help and make you feel welcome and looked after. I have done 3 major tours of SA on a motorcycle and very single time I had an issue, it was minutes before someone stopped to help. One guy drove 200km out of his way with my bike on the back of his bakkie when my tyre shredded. Another guy stripped a cable off the speed boat he was towing to fix my snapped clutch cable. ( that lasted another 4000km) South Africans are wonderful people.

She's my bike! It's a great one but there are some things to be done on her: 1 the seat is a rock. 2 the pipe is very restrictive and heavy. I had a new one, saved 5 kilos and she gained some power (incredibly) 3 lights need to be improved 4 front suspension is too soft. Really too soft for offroading and really too soft for asphalt. 5 stock tires are shit. Care when it rains. 6 it has a ridiculously small tank. You can get an aftermarket one and gives you 30 per cent more range. 7 I added a windbreaker. 8 the bar is easy to brake. Overall a great bike. Very reliable. After all those mods

You can't go wrong with the Honda, bullet proof, frugal, easy to ride, easy to fix, I loved mine (which I sold a couple of months back having owned it since 2014). Oh, you will defo need a bigger tank though, you can get an aftermarket Acerbis one which is well worth you getting fitted on the road somewhere otherwise you'll be looking for fuel stations every hundred miles. We travel to South Africa regularly and we usually avoid the cities-not only because of crime and traffic but because there are so many places in the country to see (read: NOT game parks). South Africa has a pretty good road network and good cell coverage most places. It also has many different types of regions/climates: subtropical, beaches/coastline, mountain, high plains, scrubland, semi-desert, and desert. Warm Indian Ocean, cold Atlantic Ocean.

I have never been to South Africa I do remember when many Dutch farmers and their families were murdered and land taken magnificent farms have gone back to wild Bush buildings destroyed by the new owners is that an area to be avoided?
@faniesmith3 жыл бұрын
@@daymaker5460 There have been farm murders of late. But not to the extend that you describe. I think what you describe above is more the case with what happened in Kenya and Zimbabwe after their independence. As long as you remember you are in Africa and don't go to stupid places you will be fine. Basically the same as in any third world country.

That Honda CRF250L is perfect for you. It is a reliable , economic and lightweight bike that has enough power to take to where you want to go, fast or slow. I have a Kawasaki KLX230 which is similar to the CRF250, and for me the bike is a bit too small. But I think I weigh more than you so your Honda will suit you just about perfect.

So excited about this series - set in my home country! I hope you're going to tour around the Drakensberg, because that's one of the most spectacular parts of the country for me. Garden Route, and of course a little around my home city, Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula.

Congrats Noraly on the new bike. First time I'm early for the video at 9min in and yes, ride on the left! As per India, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia and Japan to name a few. 👍♥️🇲🇾

A young motorcyclist was killed in England when a woman from an American forces unit stationed there came out of the base and drove on the right instead of the left. She is refusing to come here and face justice at present. We can only hope.
