I remember back in the day when asked about Ubiray, the devs confirmed he was a dev-exclusive hero and that he had no in-game description like the others. I assume this was the way they got him usable, right?

​@Retendo He can only be unlocked through normal means in the Nintendo Switch version.

This is not how they used him, no. His in-game costume type is set to 1. Normal costumes are 0. Ones like Barbara and Golden Teensy have other values too. I assume some developer flag is needed to unlock the special "1" costumes, not sure. What this patch does is simply changing the byte from 1 to 0 so that the game thinks it's a normal costume. As for him being unlockable through Uplay, no. He is unlockable on PS4/Xbox One if you're a VIP player or by default on Switch.

You can also get Champion Ray by receiving the VIP status on new gen platforms, this status is gotten by supporting the Rayman Legends community

How do you apply a skin over rayman from a file which is just a "cache" folder? I tried importing the folder into the old cache folder, but the textures are messed up

You should just be able to import the folder in the Archive Explorer. How are they messed up? What files did you use? You could also try importing only the modified files if that helps.

@@RayCarrot I do not have the same issue, but I do not have Archive Explorer in my Rayman Control Panel, which prevent me on adding any skins into the game. Is this normal?

@@wendyumana-ticas3118 The Archive Explorer is only available in the latest versions of the program. It can be accessed per game by pressing the drop-down arrow under it or in the utilities page.

Good question. The game is structured in a very modular way where the costumes and their configurations are simply stored in lists in the different game configs, referencing the relevant files (such as textures). It should theoretically be possible adding to them.

How is vip status given? I don't mean how does selection work, but how do the devs actually hand it out? Is there a checkmark that the devs apply to your online account that gives you it or something?

Yeah, there's a flag they set in your online profile data which enables it for you. There's a second flag too for developer accounts they used on their own accounts (at least on PC).

Sadly that's a lot more complicated. This mod was possible due to UbiRay already existing in the files, so all that had to be done was change a flag on his entry so he appeared as a normal costume. Btw, I'm glad others have found that RayWiki article :p I spent a lot of time creating that one.

Is there anyway to play this on a 2gb ram open gl laptop at full speed or 30fps?

Legends is sadly locked at 60fps, so that might be an issue on laptops with low specs. You could probably run it decently if you lower the resolution a bunch, but I'm not sure. If you buy from Steam you can usually get a refund if it doesn't work.

@@xxsusmasterxx5491 Origins would be the same (so locked at 60). I do know from when I had a laptop with low specs that both games ran okay. For Legends it would lag at some of the heavier levels, like the music ones. Origins would lag at some bosses I think. Lowering the resolution a lot usually helped it, but of course the game doesn't look as good then.
