I'm not sure why some people hated Assassin's Creed 3. The story was great, the gameplay was awesome, and there was so much more to do than in the previous games, the wilderness in particular I liked.

+Connor Drew well that's kinda the point of Assassins Creed. "History is your playground", one of AC's tag lines. Some other AC's failed at putting you into major historical events. Though the gameplay of those games did make up for it. Like AC2, it was during the Italian Renaissance but we didn't actually do anything in it that had anything to do with it. We just met Leonardo Da Vinci and ran around Italy. But the gameplay and story was so good and innovative, that it was just simply amazing. I think it was cool how they didn't just keep the Revolutionary War in the background and actually had you participate in it.

Samuel Smith While I agree that there should be historical events, there has to be a reason why the protagonist is present. Assassin's Creed II did this well. The Pazzi Conspiracy, The Bonfire of the Vanities, Leonardo Da Vinci. They were all there, but what made it special was that they were all interconnected. In Assassin's Creed III, there were some events that felt forced. For example, the Signing of the Declaration of Independence. There was no reason why Connor had to be there, but he was. Also, Paul Revere's Ride. They seem like they just shoved these events in the game because they're famous.

It's funny when the trailer is 100x better than the actual game. I remember the part in the game where you had to avoid cannon fire, but couldn't do it in a badass way like Connor did in this trailer because if you tried it, you got hit and died.

Didn't really have a problem with Connor's personality. The game itself however, left a lot to be desired. Too many bugs & glitches.. the gameplay was nothing like the trailer. Liked Connor's story though. Really hope they make a sequel & finish it.. his story is just not over for me.

I know Desmond wasn't the greatest character and neither was Connor lol, but honestly I think the biggest mistake of this franchise was killing Desmond. After this game the ENTIRE narrative of the franchise came to a screeching halt. After this they Ubisoft was just trying to cash out, which is unfortunate because this franchise had so much promise. Well, if you play the actual game, Conor does mention a lot that he's going after the Templars..he just has to do other things on his way to them, such as assassinate other people, kill the 'troops' that get in the way, etc.

I think you should if you want to see everything and know the story and characters more.Usually at the beginning of the games,they go through what has happened in the previous game but it doesn't give detail.You can buy the original four games for very cheap prices but it's your choice.

It has nothing to do with how it's being played. It's the fact that in the demo, the game isn't glitching every five seconds, Connor's free running is a lot smoother, and the cut scenes look more genuine, along with the frame rate not lagging. All of these things are in the actual game, this demo version is everything the final game should have been.

i personally think he cinematic trailers for ac actually show some gameplay elements. if you've played the game, you'll recognize the battle of bunker hill (running between cover) and to me at least, the templar that's assassinated by connor in the trailer has a slight resemblance to pitcairn.. I'm probably wrong though, but oh well :)

What do you mean "Taking heat from other rebels", the "rebels" were retreating back and no, most soldiers were not "given a gun at the docks", your thinking of Russian WW2 Stalingrad. They were enlisted and properly trained not given a gun and thrown into battle. You didn't see at the end where he aimed at the british general? The british general had a whole squad of troops around him and at the ending scene there were no troops to be found. Your argument is invalid.
