I absolutely love the way each villain has exact same soundtrack over and over again but in different genres, fitting so beautiful. John so religious, has the choir singing for him, Faith with her tragic history paired with Bliss-created paradise having those amazing Reinterpretations (which is hands down the best), telling her life's story just as you listen, and Jacob with his countryside, American versions. It's absolutely the best move in recent history of soundtracks, and a selling point of the game just perfect. It's just 10 songs for each region, plus Montana's own ambient/combat music, yet it works so brillant. What's interesting though is that Joseph's eulogies are backed up by.. Montana's songs - just in the sad, depressing tone. Amazing how they've made the Montana his own theme, almost as if the land was his own, as if one more dead Seed memeber is another wound to the land.. step closer to the end. Wonderful soundtrack.

Wow, I didn't expect Hammock to show up in a AAA soundtrack! These guys have been quietly making music for years and I'm glad they're going to reach a huge new audience with this! To those just discovering Hammock because of this beautiful score, I urge you to check out the rest of their music. It's all very much like this and is some of the most lovely sounds you can put in your ears. Two of my favorites: Their album "Mysterium" that came out last year is a stunning journey about mourning a death in the family. This is truly music you feel, and no words are required. Their EP "Longest Year" is short and sweet, but manages to convey a sense of longing in an extremely soothing way. While listening to it one night in a car, my passenger commented "When I close my eyes it feels like we're driving to heaven".

While playing the game, I had engaged a group of PEGgies beside a field of bliss flowers. After eliminating the cultists, I was literally frozen in place by the music coming from one of their trucks with the speakers piled in the back. It was this score. It was so creepy, so surreal and so utterly appropriate for that moment of brutal violence in a trippy, hallucinogenic faerie-tale setting that I actually stopped moving and just stood and listened, in-game, for half an hour. Totally entranced by the music. Amazing stuff, and perfectly executed by Ubisoft. Just the music alone made me sympathetic to the Cult.

Faith's region is hands down the best region in FC5. From the breathtaking views of the mountains, the rolling hills of bliss flowers, the sparkling and mysterious water, the peaceful and calm music playing from the PEG trucks as they're working in the fields, her voice playing over the speakers at PEG hideouts, her popping in every once in a while to talk to you while you explore. I'll be honest, this game literally was a huge surprise to me. I set my expectations so low, because I only heard bad things about it. But I grabbed it because it was on sale. And holy shit. Far Cry 3 is my favourite with 4 being a close second, but after playing this, it might actually become my favourite. There isn't a single thing about it I didn't like. I played it in this order: John, Jacob, Faith and it felt like it was the order the game was intended to be played. I never thought that I would get emotional over a Far Cry game but this actually almost made me tear up. The soundtrack plays a huge part in it too. Probably the best game I've played in 2021.
@_wanted_outlaw30072 жыл бұрын
It's actually very split there are a lot of people and I mean a lot of people who love this game along with the aesthetic and the story, but there's also a lot of vice versa so if you were wondering if you were missing something clearly bad with the game you weren't really and it's just opinions which might look like fact on the surface. But you probably understand why these opinions exist as there are many things that are different in this one compared to the other Far Crys most agree it's not a very traditional Far Cry.... you've played it. But if you want to see a far cry in which people really devote hate look at Far Cry 6, if people didn't enjoy New Dawn's take at being unique and changing too much ramp that up tenfold for 6. Even though their are good things about the game myself and many others could see the games faults halfway through the game.

For all its flaws, farcry5 has the most persuading villains ever, they walk the line between pure insane and sane.
@_wanted_outlaw30072 жыл бұрын
They're not insane, if you try to stop them or murder them you are preventing them from saving others from annihilation therefore you must be stopped or punished. Not only to allow them to continue their project but to set an example so others don't do the same. If they have to take you or drug you they are left to think and tell you it's better than annihilation and they genuinely want to save you. They Don't want to do it they have to, Anyone they've ever hurt or injured or killed did something equal or worse to Eden's gate and you only get one side of the story. As an example everything Jacob did to Pratt was to make him stronger, at the end he goes Rambo and it works doesn't it? If someone wants you to believe they're in the right they're not going to tell you what they did wrong. Thus you only get half the picture.

I know a couple of artists that make music like this - and like you said, I often get these images of somebody about to die, looking back on his or her life, and ultimately dying with a smile on their face, or maybe something even more sad, someone about to commit suicide, looking back on every mistake, all the pain. But not just bad stuff, how about 27:35? I get this image of a beautiful sunbathing bedroom at dawn, waking up beside your beautiful loved one in a wooden cabin, peering into each others eyes. Or a lone fisherman casting out his fishing rod in slow-motion, in the middle of nowhere in a beautiful alpine forest. Close-up of the bait bobbing on the surface of the water. Him popping open a beer and just sitting back. I love this type of music, as a filmmaker I instantly see 'shots'. If possible the game would have taken a huge turning point when crossing into faith's territory. For me she was the second after jacob. I was all hellbent on taking everything this game had to offer and faith would have turned me in half a heartbeat. Sure i might just be a empty headed zombie (or angel in this case) but any version of "oh the bliss" is touching.
@kylehilow48083 жыл бұрын
Interesting! I went John, then Jacob, and finished with Faith's territory.
@_wanted_outlaw30072 жыл бұрын
You're missing a easily missed point only the ones who don't want to be saved are turned into zombies. They want to save you from annihilation by any means possible if that means resorting to "the bliss" then it has to be done, Don't you find it weird the Marshall wasn't turned into a angel? This is because the Marshall wanted to be saved but just didn't know it at the time, he later explains the world treated him like trash and that he's finally happy, the butterflies that land on him are supposed to make you think you he's brainwashed but when they fly away they're actually supposed to show he's free......

@@_wanted_outlaw3007 That's pretty interesting. I can always appreciate an underlying point easy to miss. This was probably my fav farcry. i still listen to the soundtrack today. 6 just didn't do it for me.

Hammock has always been the soundtrack to my life for the past decade. But when I heard they were featured in Farcry 5, I was overjoyed! I can't tell you how often I would be sneaking around a base, hiding in a bush to plot my next attack.......then I would find myself completly captivated by the music playing on the Trucks nearby. The bad guys would actually start singing/harmonizing with the chorus to the music and the vibe would kick in just like that. This game is just a masterpiece in and of itself.

I had been playing RDR2/RDO for almost 3 years on PC and PS4. However, after trying to play the Far Cry series for the first time in mid-2022 and Far Cry 5 which was the first Far Cry game I played, I realized that Far Cry 5 is the best game I've ever played, from the approach of the antagonist characters that are so memorable, the story of each antagonist, the scenery, the atmosphere, the music, and funny moments offered in Far Cry 5. When I play it, I feel like I'm in Montana, the scenery and the graphics are more real and amazing than RDR2. The music is really good.
