I just red the book 1 and the biggest blunder of the book, was the bank scene steel-heart use the gun, then drop it and then turn everything into steel, why didn't the gun on the floor turn to steel, that was the biggest plot holes in the book and I'm surprise that the people that review the book before it was publish, never notice this.

You must not have been paying attention. Steelheart's power has no effect on material that is already a type of metal. A gun is already mostly metal, if not *all* metal. His ability could not affect it and Brandon revealed this in Steelheart somewhere in the middle of the book.

jchinckley OK I see what your talking about, most not all parts of all guns are made of Metal , but the part I didn't understand in the book, how can all the non metal parts of the gun, not turn into steel, but all the chairs in the bank was turn into steel.

jason4275 still skimming (or not paying attention, I'm not sure)... metal itself is also a kind of "insulator" against his power, so if you encase something in steel or another metal, it will be unaffected by Steelheart's power. That's why they still found stuff that wasn't changed to steel inside the bank vault when they opened it. :) Any other questions?

jchinckley What was rules to killing steel heart, David dad hurt him, was it because he did not fear him, how does that explain his battle with other epics, wouldn't they have to be fearless to battle steel heart, or like on the stadium battlefield, is it that, steel heart can only kill himself because he did not fear himself, but isn't he suppose to be indestructible to bombs and bullets 24/7.

jason4275 You are pretty close to exactly right. Steelheart was hurt by David's dad, because David's dad believed with his whole heart that Steelheart was truly a hero, which made it impossible for David's dad to fear Steelheart. So, yes, when David set it up for Steelheart to shoot himself, that was a master checkmate move. Who in the world is afraid of himself? Especially one who is as arrogant as Steelheart. Probably no one.
