UbreakiFix Noblesville, IN: My bad experience

I am giving 2 stars based on my experience. I called and made an appointment to swap out the screen from my Google Pixel 7 and they confirmed they could do that and had a screen replacement available. Upon dropping it off, they asked if anything happened to the screen, which was mentioned that there was water damage. That changed the whole course of the inspection, where they first now wanted to do some diagnostics to see if there were any further damages beyond the screen. According to Adam, there was and that it would not be worth trying a new screen since it would 'not work anyway'. Now I'm an electrical engineer, I was baffled and didn't believe it. The phone was still working and sending/receiving signal even as the screen slowly started turning black over a course of a few days from water damage. I wanted them to at least try a new screen and they wouldn't budge. When I picked up the phone, Adam had left for the day so I dealt with another guy who really seemed irritated I came in about 30 mins to closing time or whatever. I tried to get more details about the inspection and he was very short and told me the typical spiel about liquid damage indicators (LDIs, etc.) that means they can't repair the phone. So I left and purchased a screen online and swapped it myself AND THE PHONE WORKS!! I was willing to give UbreakiFix my business and just have my phone screen replaced as I requested. I guess the lesson is, don't tell them it had water damage. Something fishy going on here. When I swapped the screen, the board and screws looked untouched. Don't throw away your phone just yet, swap it yourself if UbreakiFix is unwilling to at least try swapping it.

Thank you for putting out this video, I've had a weird experience there as well. I had just replaced the back glass of a Galaxy S9 and sealed it up but completely forgot to install the new battery that I had. Instead of risking the new glass I decided to go over to the uBreakiFix purely for them to open it up. When I got there I told them what was going on and they even offered to install the battery and so I said sure. Waited about 20 minutes and then when they came out there were three stickers on the back of the phone. I almost walked out of the store before realizing they had cracked the back glass. The stickers were there to try to cover it up. When I asked about it the person at the desk said " are you sure it wasn't cracked before you came in?" It was such a stupid question because I had already told them that I had just installed that new back glass. They kept denying and deflecting and it was super annoying. Honestly at the end of the day you learn that if you're willing to open it up yourself then it's just easier and less hassle if you do it all yourself. It's sad to say but hopefully more people try fixing their own things.

Thanks, I didn't think this video would get any views, but I wanted to share it so that people who read my google review would have more of a story or background if they wanted more details. Sorry about your experience too, was it at the Noblesville, IN store too? Can't believe they'd try to cover it up. They should improve the customer service if they want more people to do business with them. It's true, it was easier and less hassle to just change the screen myself too. I just wanted a "professional" to do it to save me time and have a warranty on the repair.
