ThinLinc is the best Remote Desktop Access software that provides graphical desktop experience that is indistinguishable from a local desktop session. It works in Linux, Windows, macOS, and even a web browser. Basically, you can access your Linux desktop from any device that has an internet connection.

Thanks a lot! It took me days to troubleshoot and figuring out to remote desktop to Ubuntu from windows and make it work. But it's still slow so I will definitely give this a shot. I am helping my cousin with configuring a wireless printer and I was struggling now probably kill two birds with one stone with this. Thanks again!

Wonderful content. Using the thinlinc client makes it look really smooth, does it have hardware acceleration? based on the video using web vs client.

Hi Johson, ThinLinc works with hardware acceleration on the server, being compatible with VirtualGL.

This is indeed a very necessary feature. It would be great to see a video on this topic.

Thanks for the video, maybe you can compare it with nomachine.

I also use NoMachine on my Linux boxes and the graphical and audio response is almost as good as being local to the machine...I too would be interested to see how ThinLinc stacks up but for now I don't see myself changing

So there are no native iOS/iPadOS and Android clients... And a third party VNC client app (like JumpDesktop with proper keyboard and mouse forwarding) also can't be used?

This looks wonderful for a home connection / local network.. but how would you use this for external clients / users on their own computers to provide Remote Support?? As it is both TeamViewer and AnyDesk are running riot with intentional limiting features (like 10 minute automatic timeout disconnections in AnyDesk even if you pay to use it and unfair price hikes with the case of TeamViewer) while they charge premium prices!! There has to be some serious competition to force these businesses to be more friendly towards their own users who are expected to annually cough up hundreds or thousands to use their software!!

The biggest problem I have since Ubuntu 20.04 and using a VNC clinet is that once the monitor on the host is unplugged, VNC loses its connection. Workarounds have been to create/buy a dongle that fools the host computer into thinking it has a monitor still plugged in. I wonder if ThinLinc addresses that issue and allows real "headless" remote access.

I am able to connect via SSH. I was able to connect from client (OSX) to server (PopOS) on LAN but was given "no executable profiles could be found on this system" message. The same thing happens when connecting via web. Can anyone assist? Thank you!
