Mexico (Mestizos) have been in love with the romanticized work (art, music, literature) that has shaped the national culture ...it is a tragic that Mexico continues to be one of the most racist nations in the western hemisphere towards the Amerindians and AfroMexican.

But is not just talking about Mexicans though. He is talking about all Latinos. The Spanish also mixed with the great Incas.

Not nearly as racist as the United States.

@Edward Ronquillo you mean Africans? Those are the ones in the wrong boat telling half a continent in america to go back to their country and they believe they were the mayas and aztecas. They are brainwashed

It's so sad the story of Mexico since the NAFTA free trade agreement. The agricultural ferias around Iguala were amazing, peaceful, family events. Now there is fear, violence and drugs. The Mexican people deserve better. Don't think the Illiad was the worse thing that befell campesinos. Vasconcelos was grandiose, overblown, very misguided in many ways, especially in the thirties but believe he cared deeply about education and literacy. The great murals in public buildings are an inspiring legacy from a time of great optimism in Mexico.

For Gods sake, UC Berkeley has no film department? Maybe you all need to bring up a few UCLA people to teach you how to film a simple lecture. What a disaster. All the Latin American talks are SO poorly recorded. Jumpy camera movements, ridiculously bad sound. Come on. Otherwise interesting, what you can hear of it anyway.

....the lecturer has to be school, in TECHNOTITLAN the Aztecs were the result of breeding warriors choosen by their endurance with the best cardio natives who can stand in any place to fight in any war or fight in any climate, then were mixed with ferocious overseas conquerors hungries for Land and Gold. The mixing pot started immediately choosing the right people with the ancient blood of Toltecs, Olmecs, Mayans, Aztecs, etc to create the most beautiful mosaic of the best hard workers and best matematician and artist to conquer the universes from MÉXICO, that's why is named The Cosmic Race because that was possible just in Mexico ( bellybutton of the moon) but NOT in any other place, country or Continent..... US had tried to do mix the race in a pot in NYC but with not result at all why? Because there is not "Race" neither ancient knowledges of the Universe like in Mexico the cradle of the Cosmic Race

The word Anglo in a context of historical relations with Spanish, Mexican, Mexican Americans can, depending on how used, encompass the other European cultures involved, but not mentioned by name.
