A little over a year later and this guide was still excellent. I did use a more recent source to get my keys, but knowing what to do with them, where to add games, and showing that using an XCI file just works was perfect. A short, sweet, and to the point video. Thanks man.

Hmm.. I select my switch games folder, bit it doesn't bring up any games. It just shows the folder on yuzu.

it worked but i have a problem, when i run the game, the emulator crashes [the game is kirby star allies] and when i checked the compatible games, its on the great section and i have a NSP file, idk if thats the file that we need to use. best tutorial btw.

Thanks! Yuzu is great. Wayback machine is super cool as Nintendo's ban is meaningless as the switch won't be getting any new games anyway so new updates weren't really neccessary.

i dunno why no one mentions this but if your on windows 10 or 11 and use HDR. going into full screen disables windows HDR and colors and contrast all looks messed up. there is a work around for this.

Don't use HDR when content isnt meant for it. No switch games have HDR to this point, so dont enable it on PC for it. Takes 3 seconds to disable it on windows settings by typing in HDR

You should be using Vulkan and not OpenGL. OpenGL is ancient and Vulkan offers better performance and CPU usage with modern systems regardless of Nvidia or AMD GPU…

graphics advanced tab have changed a lot in version 1473 and I was unable to find vSync there. will leave it until it generates a problem.

don't use opengl if you have a nvidia card i used it first because he said so and it ran pretty bad and now i switched from opengl to vulkan it runs a lot better pc specs i5 12600 32gb ram rtx 3070 ti

I have an Nvidia card (980 Ti) and the Vulkan backend actually runs better than OpenGL for me. For example, I get a long stutter at the start of the Intro to Super Mario Odyssey but it's only a split second with Vulkan. Framerate also seems smoother. Perhaps it was a change in Yuzu as I'm using a newer version than the one featured in this video as much would have changed in 9 months.

Great guide. I will add that if you don't have your xbox controller connected or plugged in, you will not be able to set it as the input device. This seems obvious now but initially I had thought this was a preset through yuzu, like how the gamecube controller was already loaded, but I dont have one connected.
