I really like this short format for the film review. The focus on one player helps me understand better what they are doing and how it affects and is affected by the rest of the play, without overwhelming me with too many details. 👍

Most of the defense was really good against the run I have to say. I agree on DreMont Jones. Was super disappointed watching the tape back of his pass rushing. But hopefully it improves with more teammate chemistry

Great work Matty! Love this content and the film tape review that you and Grif provide. Have you gone over anything on how this adjusted front has fixed the run defence issues from last year? Also confused on why it’s hard to generate pass rush from a 5 down front. I was hoping to see the bear nickel this year.

Thanks Dan, nice to see you commenting here. And that run defense article/front explainer is a massive project I'm working on for www.seahawksontape.com. I have old 2014, 2016 footage to tie in the blend from then into now. Along with some great Pete quotes. Until then, I touched on it a bit here www.seahawksontape.com/p/seahawks-fixing-2023-run-defense and here www.seahawksontape.com/p/2023-seahawks-defense-shaping-up, which I suspect you've probably read already. Pass rush from 5 fronts is a bit tougher when rushing 4 guys. Because you only have one edge rushing, so the angles are eh. It's why football teams go into even, 4-man spacing for most of the snaps when they are expecting pass. Can get both edges going "easily." Obviously nickel bear has its merits as championed before, but Seattle this year is all about letting those two OLBs make the plays, be dynamic. They are an "even" team, but a lot of what they do is changing the front's structure, sometimes getting into "odd" kinda looks post-snap.

Some notes. 1. It's weird to not see your shoulders. 2. ambient/background music is your friend. 3. And this isn't a dig at the way you look, we don't always need to see your face. Bring yourself in when you want to emphasize what you're saying, and bring yourself out when you want to emphasize what is happening. Keep it up, Matty!

Yeah as Jen pointed out, he was questionable on the injury report this week. I think I mentioned it in the video, but to me it looked more like he hurt his hand trying to connect with a reroute
