I feel like everybody has forgotten that Devon Witherspoon was one of or even the highest graded "island corners" coming out of college playing over 90% of his snaps on the outside and shutting everybody down. Given the amount of depth and quality we have at the position, I'd have him and Tariq play on the outside and travel with their respective opponents. You can then still have them blitz from there or do other exotic stuff like they did in BAL and play Brown, Bryant, Reed or whoever inside.

I think another factor in the Q of whether they would move DK or not is Tyler. Tyler is in the sunset of his NFL career, so it’s like, how many more seasons do you get out of him? If Tyler has the juice for a few more seasons they’re set up better to move DK but if Tyler won’t be around much longer, that ups DK’s worth to the team, imo. I know they’re a different type of receiver but just thinking in terms of WR talent on the team in general. I do agree with you, Griff, I think in general Schneiz is the kind of guy who will at least listen to any serious offer, just based on the way we’ve heard him talk about his approach to trades and contracts and whatnot before. Also, Matty, I hope you know we are all so proud of how well you’re doing with the Olympians!

You two are pretty nerdy like me. Do you think it's corollary, causation, or both that calvin johnson, julio jones, and Andre Johnsons monster years came when the qb was throwing over 4500 yards? Andre johnson had a huge year before but the other two guys were very good not amazing until the qb could do that. I like DK a ton but wonder how connected it is to his perception that he's good not great is wilson being mid in '21 and Geno also faltering in '2023.
@EvolutionaryE
@EvolutionaryE 25 күн бұрын
Geno didn’t really falter in 2023. . .
@iron_bison
@iron_bison 24 күн бұрын
@@EvolutionaryEI'm well and truly over Geno debates that lack objectivity. This show has grown on me quite a bit with the schematics and hosts. I'd assume this would be a crew of folks who could assess neutrally. Geno's boring old, non "advanced," stats were down in '23. Full stop. Oline fault? Coordinator fault? I really don't care. All those things play a part. Geno himself as a qb had a lower completion rate, a lower yards per game, a lower td:int ratio, and played less games due to injury. That's just straight quantifiable information. His year was less good then '23. Thus, Faltered.

@EvolutionaryE he along with hawkblogger have made some great points. My over arching point about WR's is whether it's chicken or the egg. Wr makes the qb or does the qb make the WR? Geno. 1st down efficiency, catchable pass, go from a not great to truly awful oline. I agree with a ton of this stuff. Football is a kind of cruel game where the qb gets an outsized amount of credit.
@TimDatAlaskan
@TimDatAlaskan 24 күн бұрын
@@iron_bisonI see your point however without acknowledging the cascading failures of the team holistically and Geno’s improvement in the controllable variables is missing the point of this group. This process over results based analysis. Things Geno could control Turnover worthy plays, time to throw, pressures to sacks, fumbles, interceptions, penalties etc all decreased in 2023. Completion rate, big time throws, and other such stats decreased, yes but only marginally given the entire circumstance of the season were not good in anyway. WR drops increased, 9 different OL starting combinations, route choreography, play calling restraints, Geno was injured WK4 off a hip drop tackle, DK was injured wk 8, both starting tackles injured wk1, defense regressed after Uchenna’s injury, etc. Objectively, every bit of analysis will be pieced meal because there is no clean way to analyze the entirety of the 2023. It was a cascading failure event. So looking at Geno has be done from a process perspective.

@iron_bison 24 күн бұрын
@Stream-hw6pfJohn has spent quite a few high picks on wr's over other positions. He's never been afraid to pay for the position. The harvin trade didn't work but he's also not afraid to spend picks on risky moves. Additionally how's the WR room with a diminishing Lockett and DK gone? Take Geno's weapons and go into tank mode?

He should be in jail because he's an idiot but the idea of "suspending" a license that NEVER EXISTED IN THE FIRST PLACE is silly to me. The term suspend carries with it the idea of stopping process or condition after it already exists. It's just weird phrasing to me. It should be "preventing" not "suspension".

Freakiest athlete on the team has to account for something. I could see Kenneth Walker making that list if he can continue improving under the new offensive scheme, definitely one of the most gifted athletes on the team.

Your perception of some US states is obviously skewed. Hunting of bears is regulated by state agencies who have biologists that monitor populations of not just bears, but all game species in the state. The agencies maintain healthy populations of both and you're required to report anything you harvest. Some states want specific things (teeth, dna) from the animals for studies theyre conducting. That's why the US is the premier model for wildlife conservation world wide. Don't believe me? Study up on whitetail, mule deer, turkey, bison and elk numbers from the 1800's vs now. Permits are issued to hunters for $$ and methods of taking game vary from state to state. The money from these permits goes directly back to the conservation of said animal populations. It's not a bunch of good ol boys killing animals for fun. Although poachers do exist. They're usually doing it for monetary gain (bear gall bladders, etc). Fuck those dudes
