Our Human Computer Integration Lab at the University of Chicago has four papers at ACM @sigchi CHI 2024:
1. Haptic Source-effector: Full-body Haptics via Non-invasive Brain Stimulation (CHI honorable mention for best paper award)

Video credits & more info for curious people:
1. Jas Brooks behind the camera on this video, they did a great job since we had to switch between different video streams in real time (Jas had a flipper and was controlling our HDMI switch).
2. We needed six takes because the VIVE tracking Quest tracking + Hololens tracking were fighting. Some very interesting IR interference going all with all these systems, don't use them all at once like we do!
4. In case you are curious: there was no script for this video, it is improvised. The only fixed aspect was the order of the projects because we discovered in early tests that the tracking was not cooperating, so the brain stimulation work by Yudai Tanaka had to be the first one.
5. There were at least four other takes we liked, but this one, felt the most fun.
6. Many moments were not even intended to happen, such as Romain Nith's beautifully made bluetooth foot-switch "failing", but Romain elegantly recovered and controlled the EMS from his laptop.
7. If you look carefully in the video, you might see some flour and a waffle maker in the table (seen from HoloLens camera), well, Romain was making waffles the whole time.
8. Finally, a big thanks to all HCI lab members, a lot of people helped besides the authors whose work was shown here. Thanks!
