I went to UCLA in the 90s. I lived in Sproul hall freshman year. The food options available now is incredible. Y'all are loving in paradise! Dorm food in my day was edible but not much more.

I would recommend applying for as many scholarships as possible. Your financial aid is determined by how much income your family has. It's hard for me to day because its different for everybody.

How does swipes work? One swipe is for one time entry to the dining area? And you get unlimited food? Once you go out and come back in, it counts as another swipe?

Yes, you are correct! You can swipe one time for entry into the dining halls (Covel, De Neve, B Plate, Reiber) or you can swipe for one meal or food/beverage choice at other eateries like Cafe 1919 and Rendevous

Prices vary, but everything is paid for the whole year when you purchase a meal plan. There's different options & different prices for each :)

Meal plans cover cafe food as well. But it depends what particular meal plan you have. If you get Premium you can use swipes anytime and anywhere on the hill :)

Thanks for your video. All these places you mentioned are on the hill is that correct? So where do people eat when they go to classes off of the hill? Do people go to class and keep walking back up the hill just eat or get something to drink or can they use their card to swipe at restaurants and eateries off of the hill closer to classes? Also do you have a video with this infamous "hill"? Since college decision this year have to be made via virtual tours and you tube video's I was hoping to see what the daily trek from dorm to classes would look like (mostly south campus as a science major). Thank you for watching! All of the places mentioned in this video are located by the dorms. There are many other food places on campus, however they take payments like a regular restaurant or store.
