My only 2 games i ever saw at the big house was Harbaugh first start and Tom Brady's first appearance . Ames out of East Kentwood would have been a hell of a running back at Michigan but had problems i believe mentally. Hope he is doing well now..

Michigan was LOADED in the 1996-1997 seasons. I remember as an eighth grader (1996) and then freshman (1997) in high school way over in San Diego, CA watching those Wolverine teams on ABC and elsewhere. I was impressed by the talent they had in that two-year period. Poor old UCLA had to put up with the Wolverines during one of the prime periods of the latter's football history. UCLA had no stars or game breakers at receiver, in 1996 Cade McNown wasn't anywhere near what he would become in 1997 and 1998, they really only had Skip Hicks (a future UCLA of Famer) on offense, and their defense wasn't that good in '96. UCLA was screwed on offense before this game even started.
