I'm not a Bruin nor a gymnast, but Valorie Kondos Field is a legend and it is truly the end of an era in collegiate athletics. Miss Val, you've left some really big shoes to fill and I wish your new coach the best of luck, and I wish you the best of luck wherever life takes you.

she has left it in good hands Jordyn Wieber
@Girlsttal25 жыл бұрын
amber parham Jordyn's not the new coach. She is now the head coach at Arkansas. Chris Waller, assistant coach, is now the head coach. Good choice b/c he is a world class gymnast and a great coach and can carry on the legacy created by Miss Val.
@evacody12494 жыл бұрын
@@Girlsttal2 Better him then Jordyn at this stage. That's not to say Jordyn would be bad. But Chris is much older and would be better with keep the legacy going. Jordyn can build her own legacy as a head coach at Arkansas with out having the shadow of Vals legacy over her. In 15 years she could end up back at UCLA as the head coach. Many young coaches no matter the sport are better off building there own legacy at a different school.

I just want to highlight that you didn’t even need to be one of her students to be touched by her incredible positive atitude. I have been following UCLA and Miss Val for the past 5 years on line - and even on my darkest days, the routines, the smiles and her words of encouragement made me want to make the most of my days, even when I thought I no longer could. Thank you Miss Val. Your legacy is all the lives you touch, and a lot of them you are not even aware of. Lots of love x

I am sure Miss Val has an amazing life beyond work, but wow, must be hard to move on from that job, all those amazingly talented young people. I watch all the Bruins comps as much as I can. When I was little I wanted to be an Olympic gymnast. Ok so that didn’t happen 😂 however please know I can feel your positive energy even through a screen. I hope retirement brings you all the happiness you deserve. Congrats on an AMAZING career that has impacted so many people. Keep on dancin Mis Val💃🕺

I did gymnastics from the age of 5 until I was 13 but in the recreational format as I was so shy and afraid of trying scary things. So I my love of Gymnastics became one of a spectator sport and Miss Val just inspires me to come back in my next life to not be afraid but to also fight my medical battles in this life with grace and a dance. Cheers from Boston.

Sad to see such an angelic being retire. The effect she had on all the ladies is evident. It's clear that this team is not just about perfectionism but about joy and giving the audience some entertainment. I sincerely hope that the next coach will also be a people's person who takes the interest of each individual seriously. It's honestly great that this is about a team and not about I. I am no gymnast and I used to find gymnastics boring and clynical cause it appeared to me that there was no fun in it at all. Your team made gymnastics performing arts. Well done and enjoy your retirement Miss Val.😀

Gymnasts of UCLA, present and future 2020, it is these shoulders that you are standing on. Don't falter, don't hesitate, be you. Goofy, funny intelligent, amazing, stunning. Beautiful, even if you don't feel it. You are to someone. The world is waiting for you. And be the shoulders for future generations to stand on.

Geez! I didn’t think I could cry anymore than I have watching these beautiful videos! I am not a gymnast nor a college student - I am a simple Kansas gal, nearly 50, who like the rest of the world was mesmerized watching Katelyn Ohashi absolutely DOMINATE the floor during her routines. I then became interested in who was teaching and leading all that greatness so I’ve watched many of these videos....dance party goodbye had me bawling by the way! These women were more than lucky to have you in their lives and I don’t doubt for a moment they will never forget you. I don’t know you, but I will miss you and I wish you all the love and success you have earned so gracefully.....thank you.
