This was I hard game to watch. Muhl had a yolo night lol cause I don’t know what she doing. Aaliyah started off shaky but really was our biggest factor. Dorka just couldnt find the basket and played alittle weak. I really wish she was a lot stronger with the ball. Lou just had an off night. Aubrey didn’t do but also not good. Her defense was good tho. I hope azzi okay tho. I really think they sat her down because this was a type of game she could really get injured in the way the refs were calling the game at first.

What can you learn of such a game?! How to behave when your opponent doesnt want to play ball with you but rather tries to beat you up? Obviously you cant score as usualy when you are constantly fouled and the officials dont make any calls.

Tough, very physical game. Hack, slap, hold ... seemed like Georgetown was daring the refs to blow their whistle. Surprising Georgetown hasn't beat up other Big East teams for more wins.

Terrible. terrible job from the officials. And to anyone wondering why there are so many Huskies injuries throuout the season this game again was just a perfect example: they call it "physical play" but almost every team just goes all in and tries to beat up the UCONN players. If Opponents keep nonstop playing dirty and constantly fouling the Huskies you cant be surprised that there will be injuries so it is not that UCONN is prone to injuries it is just every other team playing dirty. And also many calls dont make it a unfun game to watch - like the commentators claim - one team constantly commiting fouls on every possesion is what makes a bad game where the refs must step in and make the calls to stop that and transform that game into a basketball game again.

Imagine if the refs called the fouls they called in the second half from the start. All the Georgetown players would have fouled out.

Or catch and shoot! She was doubled most of the game in the paint and she still tried to dribble. If she’s not in a catch and shoot position kick it back out. I still love her though. She’s improved so much this year and is much more aggressive 💪🏻

Love that Muhl block late in qtr 1. I think Geno's half-time analysis was wrong and that's strange. Defense and rebounding was good. Offense was missed shots and great G defense near the bucket. They triple-teamed everybody getting near the hoop. It freaks me out to see Caroline in glasses. Too weird. G was very physical in the 1st half, but refs called more fouls in the 2nd half. UConn just needs 3pt shooters to stretch the D.

After the visit from Tina Charles and as the end of the season nears, the play was like rookies. They might be feeling like freshmen in college or rookie pro players. That's a big distraction. The entire effect was turnovers, lack of good shots, fouls, etc. What to do next? Focus on where you are, who you're playing with and against. Make your game work HERE and NOW. Enjoy this time. You don't get it again. It isn't about stressing and straining. You do that in practice and the weight room. Just put your mind where it needs to be and do what you do. Make the pass accurate and timely, make a solid stationary screen, make the cut or fake out the defender, box-out for the rebound, move to the ball when you're needed, make the shot, and so on. You know how.

Nika's 5 turnovers and 6 assists are a common result for how she plays point guard... aggressive... high risk for high reward. The net result of Nika is still a big net positive from both points off assists, keeping the offense going, personal points made, steals, rebounding... and lets not forget defensive pressure. Same goes for Dorka and Aaliyah, they contribute much more than they cost (rebounding and scoring alone), but certainly could use some clean-up on the sloppy outlet and kick-out passes. Aubrey made the hustle plays all game long.. kept GT constantly on their heels the entire second half. Lou had a low scoring rate... but still played solid.. and her team still won without her having to carry them. DeBerry was a net negative... GT attacked her and scored every time. Geno pulled DeBerry pretty quick after the 2nd GT bucket... he cannot tolerate poor defense. DeBerry needs to find a defensive strategy to help the team, because right now there is no reason to play her.

Georgetown made a pesky defense that made the Uconn difficult to executive well they stifled the Uconn in the middle which is why they were able to go ahead in point 11 to 9 in the early first half of the game. Although a bit messy game, why, because in the first half, almost 5 minutes both teams were not able to get a score. So, maybe they are rusting. And you can see coach Gino restless, walking back and forth, yelling to indicate that his players are not executing well the game. Even Lopez who is a pure shooter was having poor shooting. What happened? But anyway, MJL243 is a great channel. Thanks for this fantastic upload. Amazing!

Not a great game to watch mainly because of the fouls. It is ver difficult to have any rhythm if your opponent would rather foul than give you a shot. They were getting away with a lot of fouls during the first 2 quarters. Its a toss up. Georgetown was really daring the refes to bliw the whistle.
@edlearned460
@edlearned460 Жыл бұрын
Correct. In the 2nd half the refs DID start blowing the whistle and called fouls they let go in the 1rst half. That turned the game around in UConn's favor.

I believe Azzi will be alright, she took a Cheap Shot to the back of the knee and it caused a bruise that's why she has the ice . Azzi will be fine in a week. These teams can't compete with UConn so they play dirty, it's not Chippy . Niki Muhl is the best thing for the Huskies, She's tough and doesn't let anyone bully her she gives it right back.

I know I can't be the only one who is absolutely done with Meghan Culmo. I don't know if she is trying hard not to sound like a homer, is trying extra hard to be edgy or she is just clueless. It can happen with former players (if you've ever heard Joe Namath's color commentary) although he had an excuse in that he probably wasn't sober. Even in lop-sided victories, she is so critical - especially of Nika. So done!

It's the nature of being a 'color commentator' they have to say something even when it's not necessary. They all do it. For example Meghan has told us in every game this year how Edwards 'wouldn't have made that inside move a year ago'. But yeah Meghan is getting a little stale.

Hey, James. Greetings from another sold out Huskies fan. I don't always like what MS. Culmo says, but I consider her to be a solid and talented commentator. I listen to a herd of D1 ladies' college basketball and most of the game commentators are just plain terrible. I'm hoping that Meghan hangs in there and stays on staff for a long time.

This was supposed to be the first of several tune up games in preparation for South Carolina. But instead of presenting us with a humming machine, UConn took a huge step backward. The point isn’t to collect wins vs. crappy Big East teams. The point is to prep the team for a run for the championship. We are currently positioned for a #1 seed. The team needs to string together 4-5 GREAT performances now so we can compete vs. SC. This game was a disgrace.

Nika has devolved into an increasingly poor passer throughout the season. On top of all the silly turnovers, she made another 4-5 ill-advised passes that never should have been made and were near turnovers in this game alone. Her decision making is absolutely horrible and she is killing the team and it’s offensive flow!!! The #1 job of a point guard is to protect the ball and she just doesn’t do that.

So, Chicken Little, here are some more numbers for you to consider regarding this "devolved ... poor passer" who, apparently, in your book, is just a silly turnover machine. Nika Muhl, 1st qrtr, 1 to, Georgetown did not score; 2nd qrtr, 3 tos, Georgetown did not score on any of her tos; 3rd qrtr, 2 tos and shot clock violation, Georgetown did not score; 4th qrtr, 0 tos --- the point here, Chicken Little, is that Georgetown did not earn a single point from any of Nika's tos.

The third quarter was when UConn took over this game yet only made three shots from the field. They started being aggressive and taking it to the rim therefore getting fouled and going to the line. I didn’t think a team could deal with as much adversity in a season after last year but this is getting hard to watch. I hope azzi doesn’t have to miss time but wouldn’t be surprised if she misses significant time. Just all bad.
