UConn’s role players love playing the hero when they are putting mediocre teams away but want to sit back and hide in the corner and watch Paige when the big Guns show up.

I have 2 concerns. 1: Paige playing 30 minutes of the game is gonna tire her out come MM. The lack of spreading the ball will limit them when Defense's start double team Paige or force others to make plays. 2: uconn better start rotating their bench and getting them reps, Paige isn't 100 percent after her ACL tear, but if the bench has reps and playing time they can come in and Paige can rest. Other than that, great game.

This is a VERY different team from last year. It's remarkable how Nika and Aaliyah made the team work their way, even more than Paige. This year they're all leaders to some extent. Perhaps Morgan isn't quite there, but she's a freshman and is developing.

@@stevenmilunovich4191 You should remember that Nika broke Sue Bird's record for assists in a season and that her assists/TOs ratio was 2.4, much higher than, for example, the 1.58 of a very celebrated player. Could NIka have done better? Sure, but this applies to everyone

You are right in the sense that the Big East is a weak conference; it's probabl not the weakest but that doesn't matter. There is not a single Big East team (besides UConn) that is in the top 25 in rankings. I think Depaul and Marquette were in the Top 25 lat year but are not now. These Big East wins don't mean anything to me- I want ot see what athey do against South Carolina and high ranking teams. So far they have failed against Notre Dame and USC. And I am a UConn fan! The y need better post play- we'll see if Jana can be a meaningful presence in teh post against good teams.

Actually UConn has demonstrated exactly the opposite of what you stated. Although it never won the title, in the period 2017-2024 , UConn collected 6 Final Fours and 3 finals, in which bad luck played its part as it had to do without key players who were injured in the semifinals. Can you name another team with a similar list of successes?
