A sloppy game at times, but a win is a win. Paige needs to take control of the offense and shoot more. Dorka's injury hurts them because Ododa can't compete with players her size. SC is beatable but they have to play a cleaner game. Go UConn!

What a huge upset this turned out to be. I don't think anyone saw this coming. This isn't really one of Geno's legendary teams. I don't know why Stanford was so flat in this game? They normally don't miss all of those open 3 point shots like they did tonight. Stanford had the height advantage and inside play advantage, but this just wasn't like a Vandavere coached team!
@alexroberson4454
@alexroberson4454 2 жыл бұрын
It won't be legendary as far as the overall record goes but as far the the story itself.. losing the reigning player of the year early in the season, taking lumps due to an inconsistent roster afflicted by injuries, being doubted at various points in the season, and then having their best player return and going through three number one seeds in the tournament (if they win tomorrow) to capture a national title. They'll definitely be in a league of their own with that one.

So thankful for these talented women. Playing Mr. Naismith's game with skill. So sad for men who hate on these women. Preferring to watch...other men. Period. By the way... Takes very little talent to stuff the ball. Only height/leaping ability. Equally so, little talent to knock the opponent down. Only size/strength. To shoot/pass with accuracy, however... Like these women... Requires considerable skill. Equally so, to defend well is also a skill. Period.

Evina Westbrook hits 3 threes in a row, blocks shots, gets used on defense, makes free throws when it counts and never ever loses her poise, or her cool. Azzi losing her touch for a game. Paige making mid-range jumpers and that steal in the fourth quarter. Kristan Williams making threes & finding Edwards on a press-breaker. Nikki playing world-class defense & getting rebounds. Caroline being selfless & giving up a mid-range jumper for a three from Evina. Everybody making free throws. Finally, a not to Edwards: you need to change your aim-point on your jumper. Shooting for back-iron is for kids. Don't aim for the back of the rim or the net hangers. Aim for the first y's formed by the net as it hangs from the hangers. Arc the ball enough to have it drop in the hoop under the back of the rim & you'll shoot 15% better.

Paige took a pretty good shot her leg and a pretty hard fall on her knee. I don't mind having Fudd at the line. prefer it actually.she has done nothing but taking control of the team(speaking of Paige)what the fk games you been watching the last 2 they played.
@ConGamePro
@ConGamePro 2 жыл бұрын
If you had watched the game, you would have seen how many times Paige hit the ground in that last quarter. She was banged up and I feel is why she did not have the ball in her hands at the end. The Stanford trap had made her travel in a previous possession because of her inability to move fluidly.
@hykos1045
@hykos1045 2 жыл бұрын
Maybe they were saving her for overtime again... The Huskies went like 15/16 from the line in the 4th qtr excluding the intentional miss with 4 seconds left. Doesn't really suit your narrative but the team has other players that can and do pick up the slack. And they weren't going to win a championship on the backs of just one or two players because Stanford had more depth as well. It was a good performance all around and it is a strange take to say Bueckers needs to take more shots after she dominated the first half and has been on restricted minutes up until recently. It has to be pointed out that Bueckers shot them through the previous win over #1 overall NC State. Not really sure why you'd expect her to keep doing that in three or more straight games while on limited mobility.

Is it good for Alabama to be as dominant as they have for so long as well? TV ratings say no!

Interesting take but a good one. With Alabama and Clemson with their recent dominance in college football ratings for college football was way down except in the Jim Crow south

@@mr._durden_ no crybaby about it dude. It is just better when it is different teams year in and year out like with the men's basketball tournament. Makes it more fun when it isn't predictable and the ratings show this as well. In the last 4 Super Bowls, the 2 Super Bowls had higher ratings that had no Tom Brady. Watching Tom Brady in 9 Super Bowls prior to his 10th was enough for myself so I wasn't interested in seeing Tom Brady in another Super Bowl even if it was with a different team. Same with the NBA when the Golden State Warriors played the Cleveland Cavaliers in 4 straight NBA titles in the 2010s with people losing interest by the 4 time. Sports getting predictable makes people lose interest. Love to see different teams year in and year out like with men's NCAA basketball. The NHL has been fun as well for the most part even though Tampa Bay has won 2 in a row. Dominant teams in the NHL has been short lived in the last several decades.

@@mongoslade277 exactly! It is just bad for sports when the top recruits feel like they have to only go to the most successful team. Take UConn in women's basketball for example. Paige is from Minnesota which is the heart of big 10 country but yet feels like she needs to play at UConn. Even though the B10 has had several teams in Sweet 16s etc over many years the top recruits from B10 country or wherever feel like UConn is their only choice like with Paige. Until the best high school recruits feel like they can stay closer to home, women's basketball just isn't going to draw the interest like men's basketball. UConn, almost always for 2 decades now, get the best high school athlete in just about every year, which just is mindblowing since their are really many schools to choose from, especially with Paige being in B10 country plus their are many other schools other then B10 schools for her to pick from in her surrounding area, like Notre Dame, DePaul, etc. Don't understand how Alabama gets the number 1 recruiting class in almost every year as well when there are so many other great schools with major programs and these athletes would more then likely start as true freshman at these other schools instead of having to compete with all of these 4 and 5 star athletes at Alabama.

@@mongoslade277 speaking of Alabama, I look at where many of these NFL players went to college and many of them often not only don't come from Alabama but don't come from the SEC as well with some coming from very small FCS schools. Just makes me wonder why a 4 or 5 star Alabama football player, who competes against other 4 and 5 star players on the same team didn't choose these other schools. Some of these 4 and 5 star athletes at Alabama sit on the bench because of this heavy competition for their entire college career and therefore won't get drafted in the NFL. If they went somewhere else they more then likely would have started and therefore increased their chances of getting drafted in the NFL. When you see a player in the NFL from say Western Michigan, these Alabama players that sat on the bench for a large majority of their college career have to be saying I should have played somewhere else since a Western Michigan player can make it in the NFL. Should have transferred like some players do eventually figure out but others stay and just watch on the sidelines therefore wasting their 4 star talent.

Wonder how much they pay the officials. They have lost every single game besides around 1. UCF destroyed them. That was probably about a 20-point win for UCF if it wasn't for the officials magically getting everyone into foul trouble and just giving the game away. Overall you can watch the highlights on ESPN and this is the first time they've showed the other team do anything. Against UCF it was literally six minutes of Yukon highlights there was not a single UCF play in 6 minutes and they dominated that game the NCAA is disgusting and should be shut down permanently

@@matthewwise2609 Why would I. I live in Las Vegas and I bet with my brains not my heart. Had plenty on SC minus 4.5 I knew they were the better team this year. Now next year who knows. Its idiots like you who get really upset when a team loses. I am a fan always will be but I also can appreciate the job Dawn Staley did and will continue to do with this team. You see I have a daughter who played D1 I am a big fan of the woman's game as a whole. Unlike band wagon jumpers as yourself who probably know little about the game. Hey UConn had a good year so they didn't win the Natty. Better luck next year. Congrats to a solid SC team. probably could be the final again next year. With the recruits that they both bring in next year who knows what happens.
