Uconnect 5 - 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L

The unconnect 5 is absolute garbage, Bluetooth connects disconnects randomly. Wireless Android auto never connects and is a widespread issue with no software update to fix. Are you having issues with yours?

I don’t have android so I can only speak to car play. It has some issues as well. Can get confused when you run multiple apps and I have to reboot the radio from time to time. I hope they do some updates to fix some of these issues, but they aren’t the end all be all. It’s still an improvement.

I'm with you, brother. We had a new Grand Cherokee L for only 6 months with Uconnect5. We couldn't trade it fast enough for a new Cherokee Traihawk with good old Uconnect4!

Great video!! I was wondering if there was a way to change the color of the screen to white. I saw a few videos where the climate control, the media screen etc were white not black. Is this a function that can be swapped or set like white for day and dark for night? Thanks again for the great videos

Yes, you can change themes on the infotainment. light or dark and several other themes. thanks for watching and commenting!

@@QuickShifts I'm still lost I looked all over the display settings, I found the option to choose between 3 themes but not for the light and dark option. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

@@dfiggs915 we got to do the ultimate test that no one wants to do. We got hit in the side and tested the safety of the car. The GCL was totaled, but we all came out with just minor whiplash. It did it’s job. But we lost the GCL.

I can not get the map onto the instrument cluster display, wonder if it is a option for your car? I have a 22 limited

We traded in a new 2023 Grand Cherokee L Limited with the new Uconnect5 after owning it only 6 months. JD Power just lowered the their ranking for Ram trucks because of Uconnect5. I wish anyone a lot of luck buying a vehicle with it. I don't think even a rocket scientist would need all the do-daas Uconnect5 has!

Wow. I’ve never been that upset about an infotainment system that it caused me to get rid of a vehicle. Hope you are happier with whatever you replaced it with!

@@QuickShifts As you age, the least bit of frustration can become unbearable. We're totally happy with Uconnect4. Dodge/Ram/Jeep should of kept it as their operating system. Can you imagine an elderly person, who perhaps doesn't own a smart phone, utilizing Uconnect5?!!!!

@@AStanton1966 unfortunately (or fortunately😉) I am no spring chicken myself. LOL! I see your point. That being said, I have attempted to help my parents understand and use their Volvo system and that one really makes you appreciate even the Uconnect 5. Have a great day!

@@AStanton1966 it’s not bad, once you figure it out, but it is not intuitive at all. Lots of trial and error to figure that one out.

Where's the Integrated Trailer Brake Controller? It shows up in the 2021 Owner's guide pages 101-106 but no idea if it really works or what it requires besides the $995 trailer prep group plus the hitch and harness kit.

Can’t help you with that one. Ours isn’t even equipped with a hitch. Sorry!

There’s no integrated trailer brake controller. With or without trailer prep package.
