I dont normally comment but you saved me from having to go to dealer! 2023 Jeep Gladiator, uconnect was recognizing and charging my phone but carplay wouldnt initiate. Hit and held the browse and power button like you said (browse slightly before the power button) while in accessory and it soft reset, now carplay works again!

Could you show me how you did it? I have the same problem on my Jeep Compass, I try to do it and nothing happens.

Exactly as he does in the video. I hit those two buttons ensuring browse button hit just before power button and held for like 30 seconds. Screen flashed “Jeep” and it was reset. I turned the car to off, opened and closed it. Then started the car and it was working

Thanks so much for this reset tip. The GPS had me 30 miles from my whatever location I was sitting. Did the reset. Turned off my Cherokee for 10 plus minutes and back to normal. I will be doing a U-Connect update too!

So, the soft reset did work for you? I tried with my 2018 Compass Trailhawk, but I didn't wait 10 minutes. With only 18k miles, this is ridiculous. I've never been happy with this Jeep. I loved my 07 Nissan Murano. Sorry I didn't fix that up instead.

I have a 2018 Grand Cherokee and I was hoping a soft reset would help my GPS issues and for whatever reason holding the volume/tuner knob at the same time does not soft reset it. I’ve tried at least 100 times and the second they’re pressed in the screen immediately goes off as if I’ve only pressed the screen off button where every video I’ve seen the display stays on while holding buttons until it resets

interesting, looks like you have the same issue I have with the GPS. Uconnect software is a failed system.

@@thedetailhotlap so I did figure something out as to why mine won’t soft reboot with these instructions and I feel a bit dumb for not noticing earlier. The volume knob in this video has the volume symbol with the slash through it to symbolize “mute” whereas my 2018 GC has the power symbol on the volume knob so that would explain why the screen instantly goes black when I attempt that instead of staying on for the 10 seconds before the screen goes black

My mechanic tried rebooting the touchscreen and nothing. He worked at a Jeep dealership. My 2018 Jeep Compass just turned 18k and the screen/ head unit needs to be replaced already. It will cost almost $1,600 to replace. I'm trading in this Jeep for a Nissan. Utter bs! Never had these problems with my Nissan Murano that had 100k miles on it.

Happens to me all the time - when a soft reset doesn't work, try this - Leave the vehicle running with uconnect on, it must be on when you pull the fuse, open the engine hood and fuse box cover (comes apart easily), pull the fuse with the built in fuse pulling tool (yellow tool snapped into place) its labeled "radio" slot 97 on jeeps - it is a yellow 20 amp fuse - verify first for your make and model on the circuit directory, let it sit for 30 seconds after you remove the fuse, put the fuse back in, should work.

I couldn’t find the particular fuse you’re speaking of. Slot 97 is designated to the heated steering wheel on my vehicle. I’ve read on other forums of a fuse box under one of the seats. Could this be helpful?

I have a 23 Challenger and what worked was turn the car off if running. Then push the start button to run with your foot off the brake. Wait a few seconds and poof all done. Occasionally my screen would go blank except for a small horizontal white line and this fixes it.

Imagine having one of the new Mustangs where all of their info is all on tablet like setups. Driving then all at once loose your speedo, gas gauge, temp, radio, odo, etc. what fun

I had my touch screen replaced yesterday by cuescreens because the chronically lousy uconnect delaminated screen and its "ghost touching" had my 2018 Durango SRT acting like Mesphistopheles was riding with me. Now, the infotainment system won't pair with my cell and the navigation directions are askew showing south when I'm heading north as so on. I'm gonna give your method a go and get back to to. Idk if this is just a coincidence, but I’ve been having the same issue for over a week, knew I wasn’t going to take it to the dealer just so they can charge me $250 for just a diagnosis. I bought a $20 Bluetooth thing on Amazon, connected it to the cigarette lighter in my car and instantly my Bluetooth in my car started working. The button for “phone/Bluetooth” started working again. I think maybe connecting the new Bluetooth thing reset the system in my car.

I’m running into an issue, I was on a call driving home using CarPlay via USB-C cable and out of nowhere CarPlay stopped working. The radio doesn’t work either. The touch screen works just fine. I tried doing the reset you showed but it’s saying it can’t be powered off while on a phone call, which doesn’t make sense because I unplugged the cable and not using it. It also doesn’t turn off when I turn the car off, I have to press the button to turn off the screen. Any ideas? Was thinking maybe disconnecting and reconnecting my battery, but if there’s something else I could do, that would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your screen is delaminating. Happend to me and thousands of others. Basically the inside portion of the screen is peeling away. You may notice what looks like a bubble of sorts starting to form. It will progressively get worse and will start to change functions on its own. Only fix is a new screen or a new head unit. I bought a screen on amazon and did it myself but im ok with doing that. Dealer will NOT and mist repair shops will not. Good luck. My problem now is black screen. Always somethin

Ive tried the fuse thing. It works for a while then goes back to fading in and out then going black. If i let the Jeep sot for 30 minutes it will be ok. How once the Jeep heats up it does it again. Dealership want $2500 to fix but cant tell me whats wrong with it. Sat they have to look at it . Go figure. Amy other suggestions. I have also unhooked the battery and put it back. However again its only a temporary fix goes back to the same thing after a long drive say 30 mins or if its realy hot outside and the Jeep has been sitting. What next ?
