Deputy Premier Nathan Neudorf was asked why the UCP wants the NDP to apologize regarding comments they made on the proposed Alberta Sovereignty within a United Canada Act. Leader Rachel Notley called for the federal government to quash the act should it pass at the legislature. Neudorf said his party is demanding an apology from the official opposition leader.
Alberta Premier Danielle Smith recently walked back comments she made on language that is present on the proposed Alberta Sovereignty Act. The act would give the Alberta government more power in the face of federal laws that they believe are overreaching. The NDP Economic Development Critic, Deron Bilous, says they would not support changes to the amendment by Smith.
Bilous says groups like the Canadian Chamber of Commerce and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers have also voiced concerns over the proposed Sovereignty Act.

Investors need to know that there's absolutely no chance of an NDP government in Alberta.

The question, is how many people voted for the NDP and their policies in 2015 and not just to remove the Cons, it was a backlash vote against the old Conservative Party. They had grown stagnant and corrupt. If you look at all elections before 2015, the NDP pulls max 5 seats!

Rachel got a pipeline through. Not much of a commie. Especially her and Trudeau working together, him buying it with our money, so they could force it down BC's throat, that without Trudeau buying it and claiming a national interest, would have lost in court. In fact the opposite of the roots of the NDP. Have you ever seen "Mouseland". Tommy Douglas, the creator of the Universal Health Act and NDP? A Saskatchewan doctor. You're a mouse pretending to act like a cat. Go watch it. Maybe you will understand politics a little better. Trudeau is a capitalist selling you out to the BoC. By the way, Putin is a capitalist, as is Xi of China. Learn a new word. "Authoritarian". You vote Con, so right up your alley. In fact, that's why we are having a war. They are better at capitalism, but the U.S. thinks its better at war, and they are going to destroy the whole thing.

Canada would need to embrace capitalism and the free market before investors would come back. Federal Cons are far left as the NDP and the Libs are.

I am not a 'fan' of the sovereignty act BUT that doesn't mean I think any of what's been said in this video is accurate regarding, creating new levels of government, instability, etc. All untrue. We are 3 levels of government, that's a fact and this is common all over the Western world and more generally too. Fighting to remain untangled and independent is also a noble battle whether I agree with the strategy or not. Additionally lots of nations within a nation do very well and they still see great investment. Quebec is a nation within a nation and only struggle due to separatist demands and then corruption. Nothing to do with remaining a fully functional province. Barcelona is a city state within Spain, also one of the key economic the engines of Spain. They even have a distinctive language and culture that they frequently fight for or over. Bavaria is a powerful state with Germany and it also fights the federation to remain independent. Scotland and Wales within Britain. The Flemish with the Belgium... It's a long long list! Never believe that reasonable change will scare aware investors. There is very very few things Alberta will change even if the door is wide open to change that will have a material impact on FDI. Btw a bit unrelated, but interesting. China has a real estate boom right? Did you know the land those assets are built on is not owned and is actually assets that are being built on leases? Yet hundreds of billions of dollars of international, local and retail investors have been invested. So if investors would buy that because they think they'll make money then I'm sure they'll invest in Alberta if they think they'll make money too. Just something to think about. I'm personally still undecided, but I just don't like non-sense swaying people's opinions. Decide what path is best for you and don't let the media scare you into thinking one thing or another.

AB Provincial NDP will always side with the Federal NDP, if calling her boss Jagoff Singh to come to AB and fight her battles for her isn't proof of that, I don't know what else will convince someone. Notley doesn't represent AB first, she represents NDP first. Period.
