These Nick Reveles opera talks are brilliant! Not since Leonard Bernstein has anyone made music more interesting and comprehensible.

18:05 this is totaly wrong. Guglielmo doesn't say he wish to drink a poison on the contrary he says: "May THEY drink a poison" refering to Dorabella and Fiordiligi "they are foxes without honor"... The passionate love phrases and the lies are a semplicistic way to describe this quartetto vocale, it is actually more complesx than this... But the rest of your comment is very interesting.
