We've been using Udio to do a lot of cinematic audio experiments for film scene compositions, as well as some fun cover songs (some of which are on our channel) for us, the biggest thing getting in the way of some seriously great pieces of music was the control factor. Udio only lets you output at 33s at a time, with limited adjustment features that would affect the whole segment of music. Often we found that it was only a tiny section of that 33s segment that we wanted to adjust but we had to throw away the whole piece and completely regenerate. Here's our latest experiment, a cover of Avril Lavigne's 'I'm With You', which for the most part stands up......but there's definitely some disjointed bits in there that could have used some tighter finessing kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJaqh5Waj8SpfMUsi=h7WmlqKFpd0kVjJj

Wow, checked out your video - it is fantastic! Damn! In regards to the control factor, I totally agree with you. I think that once they add in adjustment features, this tool will become epic. Do you download the full (33 second) bits and then adjust them in DAW of your choice? It must be tricky as everything is on a single track?
@redempireproductions6 ай бұрын
@@kingy-ai thanks for checking the track out and for your feedback 😃 actually for the sake of this experiment the entire track was completed on Udio with no third-party edits or enhancement. It was definitely fiddley and required some prompt experimenting but I am learning to have some mild control via the [***] commands you can layer into the lyrics section which helps more organically link the 33s segments. A couple of other tips........when a segment generates Udio will often add some additional tags beyond the ones you put in on your original prompt for the song.......implement these also each time you 'extend' and this helps keep the style consistency fluid. From an export perspective, for those music production illiterate like me.....if you upload to spotify through a distributor like 'distrokid', it will give you the option to apply a master enhancement which helps polish the track quite a bit.

Udio doesn’t appear to claim any copyight, so anything you generate is clear for you to use as you wish. But someone who generated a song listed on this site that you might want to use might claim copyright under certain situations. Purely AI generated music with no human contribution beyond a prompt cannot currently be copyrighted as per the US Copyright Office’s current policy. That might change as this is all new and laws have not yet addressed this beyond policy. And as is, if a human makes significant contributions to an otherwise AI generated song, it is copyright eligible. So if I use an Udio generated song as the basis of a new work where I wrote the lyrics and changed a few parts in the music, I CAN copyright it. Since you cannot tell if a person who generated a song here wrote the lyrics or the lyrics were generated by Udio, I wouldn’t assume there is no copyright on at least the lyrics of any song that contains lyrics because there might be. And if they later made a few changes in the music, the whole song can be copyrighted, not just the lyrics.
@ahappyshow6 ай бұрын
@@alexadigitalradio In the U.S., copyright is granted once the work is created in a reproducible form. This is by a human creator, so if you as the user use your own lyrics, it is copyrighted. Registering for a copyright is done to ensure legal protections, but is not necessary to be granted the copyright. As I understand it, the A.I. generated lyrics are not protected by copyright. My question is what happens when lyrics created by a human is paired with music that was created based on the structure of the lyrics a human wrote? In my view, if my lyrics influenced the structure of a melody generated by A.I., I should be able to claim copyright on that music, as well. The structure of the lyrics certainly affect the melody that is generated. But that's something up for legal discussion and debate, I'm sure.

@paavopuumalainen50476 ай бұрын
Yes, you just write them again for example; [chorus] Hello world, this is my chorus Helli world, this is my chorus And the it will repeat it, the only thing I don’t like working with manual mode is that udio still adds lyrics that sound ok, are in the rhythm BUT don’t mean nothing, as udio inputs lyrics that dont mean nothing to anyone are not any spesific language ofcourse this will spoil your lyrics too😢
