Just yesterday I created a nice prog rock song, early Yes style. The main limitation I see at this point is not getting it to repeat a verse or a chorus in an extension. It will repeat the lyrics, of course, but not the melody. The end of the song is barely related to the beggining of it. Well... just like Yes 😂

I think the "correct evolution" of a tool like this should be the ability to create segments in the song where you can choose the tracks/instruments. Then in generates the tracks that you can select sections of and copy paste or use to generate more things with the correct context. Of course the ability to export the song in steams would be a great plus for remixes of the final touches. (tho that sounds as a premium feature...) Right now there are good IA tools to separate the steams tho. A lot of crazy things are coming...

We experimented on a cover track for an Avril Lavigne song today and managed to get it to keep the melody on the chorus consistent, if that helps. Try prompting [Chorus] above the chorus lyrics each time you input them

I´m trying to figure out how to add a solid extro. It seems that´s not an option...or? In most cases it auto-generates a fade at the end or not even. Does anyone know how to manage that?

I'm 70 years old, so this is a technical challenge for me. All of my adult life, I have been hearing music in my head, especially when I am high. It is SO BEAUTIFUL that it makes me actually cry! But, to my everlasting frustration, I have NO musical skills. I had to WORK all of my life, so I never had time to learn any music. Now, I am retired, so I have time to try to express my Soul with Music. I just hope I live long enough to bring the music that I hear in my head out for the World to hear. With Udio, I truly hope that my Musical Frustration can be relieved. I can't Wait to begin!

So how do you edit the songs? Lets say it has 80s synth drums and I want to keep the existing clip totally the same, but with a pan drum or analog drums?

I'm hoping at some point they'll give us more flexibility with us choosing the time to extend from, repeat chorus/pre chorus etc. maybe editing in a flow chart gui would do the job...

You can extend song from specific point by toggling 'Select Section' option. Basically, you select what to save and the rest of the track will be cropped. As for the chorus you can try to select 'Custom' lyrics and write there [Chorus] tag and your text under it and repeat it several times. You can also add vowels to words and AI will try to 'sing' it longer (e.g. 'mother' to 'motheeeeer'). Oh, and punctuation marks can be used for pause :) Oh, and when in Custom mode, don't write what song is about in promt, write only styles, years, etc, otherwise generator might fail. There are several other tips in bottom right corner when you press Extend button :)

I find 30 seconds extend is too little when you click extend its completely different. Interesting to get ideas but too limited atm

I was able to keep my song relatively consistent, mostly due to luck. It's a glam rock song called "Snowman's Lament", it's both on KZbin and Udio. I can't wait for more UI improvements like segmented projects. It gets cluttered fast when you need to generate so many clips.

i believe it take a lot of tries even using the same tags and similar prompt, but still possible, a dude made a fake pink floyd album with like 10+ udio tracks and managed to keep a fairly consistent david gilmour voice across the songs

yes, click the edit option for your track (where you can also change track name) select the album artwork on this page and click regenerate

A big short fall is intros and endings that you can add on to the song. This would be best if you could cut and paste them to your AI song. Also a way to put together and edit the song before adding words and singers. A thesaurus and song dictionary might help people write better songs. A drum fill editor and a way to speed up and slow down the song. Guitar editor for adding solos.

This is how you do it! Great song! Combining a DAW like Logic with UDIO is the way of the future (I think). Unless UDIO gets advanced editing tools (eventually). Then who knows :)

Im going to cancel my weekly subscription, this is ! Ripoff, to complicated unless you put your own lyrics in, it eats up your credits fast, this program should be a program that you just type in the description of the type of music you want played to retaining to perhaps a man and wife going through a divorce and it's all over because the man fell into sickness and poverty and the woman begins to treat him mean right after that you should be able to hit a button that says create and it will write you a full song with no less than 20 lines per song with a chorus and it adds the stall of music to it that you want but to have to go through all the steps and it keeps giving you two at a time of what it has chosen which means that's going to eat up 20 credit and then by the time you go through another format of adding this to it and adding that before you know it's your credits are ate up and all you've got is a superficial mess on your hands know this program should be like other artificial programs that you ask it a question and it prints out everything for you this program is a mess you don't want to fool with it
