I wonder why a place so clean and relatively new looking, would be abandoned and not transformed for another use. It's in a way really careless to just let a nice building rot when a place like this could have other uses.

I'm ill and can't do this stuff, so I live vicariously through all of you UE's. As far as those dates up in the attic, I'd bet they're the real deal as well. Nicely done boys!

If this was abandoned, it was only a few weeks. Look at the bench and organ. Not a speck of dust. And also, if abandoned there would be no electricity, yet the mixer worked fine. Doesn't seem completely abandoned. I would be willing to bet there are caretakers of some sort still on premises.

Terri Gordon There's security here every day actually. There was a sign in sheet right next to that charging cell phone with all of their shifts and names
@alicetoo9 жыл бұрын
Terri Gordon Yes, I agree. I've never seen an empty place like this orphanage that we well know had to be lived in for many years - and then abandoned - so very squeaky clean. Either someone pays to have it cleaned, at least, monthly or it was abandoned in past month.
@TMIDiva8 жыл бұрын
+Terri Gordon Vacant vs. Abandoned. Abandoned seems to mean that people just quit the place entirely. This looks to be just vacant. It's possible that it is for sale and no sign outside. They do that to keep the vandals away.

That is most definitely an old catholic orphanage/school. It was most probably run by nuns or brothers, but I would guess nuns. If and when you go into different catholic places, look for stain glass, obvious religious phrases (charisms) to identify what order it belongs also by the saint that is highlighted more often. There will also be a difference in the rooms of the children and the religious. The religious rooms will have a small sink set up, be rather small, and several along the corridor that all look the same. When searching catholic sites, church, convent, monastery, orphanage, etc. could you try to ascertain the office of the superior or priest which might have something interesting in it. Also, if there are rooms in the basement with file cabinets in them. That is where the gold mine is for information as to who they are and what they do/did.

This place was awesome but wasn't even the highlight nor the main goal of our day. I have another video that is unfortunately too recognizable and too awesome for me to post right now. Maybe I'll post it sometime in the future when circumstances change
@VicvicW9 жыл бұрын
Cool, you upload that when you're ready to. Just a question, what exactly is your hangup about posting recognisable locations? I assume you get permission, is it so stupid people don't go and break up these places? Or is it more to do with the previous dealings with the media?
@BackyardExploration9 жыл бұрын
Vicvic W I didn't get permission for it and had to dodge several people while in the building (it still has security). If I posted it now it would definitely make headlines, and that's what I don't want.

There is a huge difference. This place isn't "abandoned" it is merely not in use at the current time. It's an awesome video, I am not discounting that at all, but true abandoned structures are left for whatever reason and then no one goes back to maintain or revitalize for another use. The elements of nature set in over time and degradation takes it's course. It would be nice if idiots didn't feel they needed to go and spray paint graffiti all over these places and break things up. But then you wouldn't expect anything less from the degenerates of society, that's all they have in life. Keep up the great work guys.
