This urban exploration takes place inside a untouched abandoned orphanage Asylum. This is never before seen footage of this abandoned orphanage. To my knowledge this is one of the last abandoned orphanages owned by this organization in America. To find one in this condition was truly amazing.

I don't know if somebody owned it after the oddfellows and before my grandparents did, but my grandparents owned this place for decades and were the most recent owners. They ran a bible college here, one of my aunts lived in one of the rooms after highschool, my dad used to cook lunches for the students, and my mom has told me stories of weird paranormal activity, specifically in the chapel (my aunts were also there, and I will admit that that building was creepy). In middleschool I remember the last time I was there my grandma gave me a tour of the whole place (around 2005-ish?). It's fucking wild to see a video of it on youtube, at the time this was filmed my grandparents still owned it (and it looks so clean compared to other "abandoned" places because they had a groundskeeper lol even though the bible college was long closed by then) My grandma recently sold the property (like another commenter mentioned) and I regret not being able to tour it one last time. I have fond memories of this place, eating the berries from the bushes in the driveway, playing the the surrounding fields with my cousins, and my grandpa telling me stories about a student who was ironing a piece of clothing in the chapel and nearly burning the place down because they set said iron on the carpeted stage lmao But yeah, not entirely abandoned just, it wasn't used for the past 10 years or so I dont know who my grandma sold it to, but I hope they don't/didn't just tear it down. I try not to think about it. I miss this place

It was sold to somebody back in July this year. Not sure who but you may no longer be able to explore it. There was another small building in the woods behind this. That might still be abandoned.

My 5 siblings and I were raised in an orphanage in Pryor Oklahoma (Whitaker State Home ) It is now called Thunderbird academy and it's ran by the National Guards . It was the best thing to ever happen to us . We are having a reunion there this June .

I began my journey into theology on a cold winter'99/'00 night in knee deep white fluff as I pulled into the horseshoe driveway and proceeded to gulp at the structure before me. I was one of three male students on campus, the other two lived there through the summer on count of not having a home to go to during break. it was cold inside at first..but then a chugging and creaky clanging...and ahhhhh..fresh hot steam filled my dorm room hot from the outbuilding that housed the hand shoveled , lump coal devouring furnace boiler I was soon introduced to as GRETTA. you see...all male students take a shift during nights/days 24-7 keeping her glowing belly full in order to have heat n hot water for the entire campus...(not a bad gig until I was informed that Grettas shaker grates were inoperable and that her belly also needed emptied by hand) I learned alot there at that place...like how not to complain, as it was futile to do so. No better professors on earth. One as an Vietnam Veteran, trapped beneath the turret of the blazing barrels of battleship shelling inland in fire support for our boys. He learned God just had to be existant that he was never hit by shell that enraged the sea on contact all around him. I found out soon enough why he hit the deck and lay flattened out on the floor behind his desk every time the fluorescent light flickered in the least. These are those that know of a God that's worth teaching about. The place was ominous for certain, but filled with joy at the same time to be filled with a new kind of orphan,. One that wasn't orphaned at all, but rather had orphaned himself and wanted answers on how to possibly find space in his own heart that welcomed him. I did. I met good people there and had a lot of laughs, something I wasn't used to as a lost ,angry and confused teenager who had no one else to blame for his tribulations but himself. I didn't learn how to become a Bible goody goody, but more importantly how to accept responsibility for the many screw ups I had and for the ones still to come. if any one has any questions, I don't have the answers, except that if you want them badly enough you'll get them. I know this place. Used to be known as the orphanage. Teen Challenge, later known as youth challenge did own it. They had chapel in the large separate building. It was a nice building but needed much care because of age. There were apartments there and there are abandoned newer this down the lane. They had started to put apartments there but there was always water issues and so on.
