applied this to a cat tail, and it works just as well :) the version in 5.0 works perfectly too... so think I'm gonna try and make this my default until I get rly good with the Physics Assets... the vein of my existence!!!!!!

Great Video! Very helpful! Although, I am still struggling with a small issue. I use hair as a separate skeletal mesh, so that I can change hairstyles and share different bodyparts between characters. How can I set kawaii up to respect the collisions of the body when I cannot reference it inside the ABP?

Hi erbe! you are the number 1! I have a question, when you talk about the skirt, you said you had to use the default physics asset editor because of the constrain problems, my question is, Do you add constraints in the physics assets for the diagonal space of the Leg, and once you have that constraint how do you implement that physics asset in the player? Are you using rigid body? Thanks ! I just need you to explain deeper the solution for the skirt. Cheers! Im from Argentina

Thank you for the video! My hairs simulate awesome now in gameplay! With the skirts I have a huge problem. No matter the cross constraints still can't get the skirt physics to be like yours in the video. Do you have any tutorials or course on how you did the skirt physics?

does this mean we have to rig or create bones too for the hair mesh ?... will these extra bones not cause trouble when importing to unreal ? sorry for the questions i am just curious how you did your character .. i have tried making characters from blender then importing to unreal but i didn't know its possible to rig the hair for unreal engine all i know is cloth simulation but this kawaiiphysics seems better to look at.

you can rig whatever is a mesh. sure, rigging from blender to ue4 isnt always.... that nice. but once u figured it out it works. its a very common practice to rig hair and clothing, its more uncommon to use cloth physics for it. im actually, in this very moment finishing a rigging course. if you are intrested, im about to post a link on my discord soon.

I use Kawaii for my physics solutions as it does world space movement in game far better then the glitchyness you can get from RigidBody on low end devices.. but I've not found out if its possible to bind the end of a chain yet, for end to end simulations.. like a rope bridge or decrotaive parts of characters attached at two points which RB does allow for

@@xxerbexx Am I missing it?.. I don't see you mentioning a solution for doing that. You talk about how theres no 'net' based support for binding phisics chains togther (very few phsyics solutions seem to support this), but no mention of binding the end of a physics chain so that retains it kinematic position like in the physics assett

​@@davidryatta9563 Let me be honest, i´v reat your comment in half sleep and awnsered in half sleep. sry if i sounded a bit condecending, part of my nature. My point in the end rather was, there isnt a simple/proper solution for it beside using unreals physic system. But attaching things to the end of the chain should be possible? You would need to take the end of the chain and pass it to the next connected component. Though you would need to do this with a delayed frame or on post tick, wich can give a hit on performence. But then again, didnt test that. Thoug again, i also probably wouldnt pass it along like that. I would probably use a master rig with set master pose to attach things. Ropes and Bridges... erm, yea idk, sounds like the most reasonable solution is the default physics system. its very sitation depending. kawaii physics generally is just for "look only" things, like a necklace on a character or so.

I don't think a tail should be done with kawaii physics. Better would be control rig

Somehow the Limits Data Asset in UE5 doesn't show any proprierties. Pretty sure it's a bug, but since I dunno how to use C++ there is no way for me to fix it. :( Is this happening in anyone's project also? Is there a way to fix that? Great video btw, cleared out some things for me.

Sadly I have not directly tested it in Ue5 yet. I'm going to move to Ue5 when it's released. There are just to many bugs for me atm. But once I'm switching I might make a follow up video

Instant upgrade for my Lobster. Thank you for that. Anyway, I'm trying to create a snake with this kawaiiphysics and the body doesn't collide with the ground even if I adjust the physics radius, It just pass through. Any idea how to solve it?

Yea, don't use kawaii physics for that as it won't collide with anything outside the kawaii physics asset

I wish it would but it doesn't. It only works inside the space of the character

Anyway, when I try to compile the game, it alerts me of something: "missing precompiled manifest for 'kawaiiphysics'. this module was most likely not flagged for being included in a precompiled build - set 'precompilefortargets = precompiletargetstype.any;' in kawaiiphysics.build.cs to override." Did you get this error?

For those who had the same issue, put the plugin on the project folder, not in the engine folder for 4.26.

Do you need to create an animation blueprint to use this plugin? I just want to do linear animations without having to make an animations blueprint for gaming. Is it possible? So little information out there on this plug in that is comprehensible.

Yes you do need one. But I have to tell you, not using a animation bp doesn’t sound logical to me at all

I have skeletal meshes with rigs that use marketplace animations. I put the skeletal mesh in the sequencer, add the animation file to it and render the scene. Where do I need an animation BP in that workflow?@@xxerbexx

Hi, check your screen recorder settings, i was watching some of your previous videos and this one, all of them look horrably blured, on 27 inches monitors i can barelly see attributes in unreal engine and so on, the feeling that my eyes stop working properly don't leave me when i try read something on those videos, like it 480P or something like that. I was check with other videos (from unreal official channel) they look much more stady, huge difference in quality, i was surprised that nobody is mentioned this, maybe they watching from phones with huge DPI i have no idea, but seriously check quality settings, i'm sure this can't be like that

My settings are absolutely fine. But I am working and recording in 4k. On a ultra whide monitor. So things are going to look very finicky on small monitors with less resolution.

@@xxerbexx i see, i watching your Character, Blender to Unreal playlist, on both monitors 24-27" full hd almost impossible to read something clean, ya it probably because of 4K, when i talk discord with friend he usually make fHD res only then i can see something. anyway thank's for info, especially about control rig, like and subscribe but eyes oh my eyes, just pain)
