Great tutorial mate. I work as a 3d Instructor myself and often find that many tutorials out there lack pedagogy and drag on for too long before getting to the point. A+

Coment for anyone trying to do the glas after version 5,2. There’s a new “Refraction” Tab in the Details Panel that needs to be set from none to inex of refraction

Hey, I've got some questions! Why in some cases does SRGB need to be turned on, and in others, it doesn't? Could you kindly explain that to me?
@sarkamari Жыл бұрын
Basically: sRGB has a gamma curve of 2.2 to better display colors on a screen based on perception. Linear sRGB is the same color gamut but without the gamma curve applied, hence linear or a 1.0 curve. Renderers operate in linear color space. In order to supply the renderer with the same type of data it expects, you need to remove the curve from you colors in textures, etc so that the renderer doesn’t accidentally alter your colors.

That's really a very good Tutorial - very helpful for me because I am a Beginner in UE5 with no experience at all. Well explained !! For sure one of the best Tutorial for "Materials" on youtube. But its a pity that I cannot download the necessary assets/materials without being a patreon (that will cost me too much every month). No possibility just to buy THESE materials?

Have you checked your blending? The material needs to be translucent via the bottom left of your material editor
@davitpatsatsia61507 ай бұрын
@@sarkamari i have same issue. refrection is disabled but blend mode is translusent
@davitpatsatsia61507 ай бұрын

Thank you for this series, but I am highly confused about certain points: I am a Blender user, I only trained my modelling so far. My goal is to get my Modells into UE5 and make commercial videos. I am unsure about the Materials, is it better to use Blender Materials and export to UE5 or to use the Materials in UE5? Which is the more professional workflow? Moreover: In Blender we have Addons or sites like poliigon which provide Materials, in UE5 we have Quixel Bridge. Lets say I want special high-quality materials without using Quixel-bridge, is the only alternative to create them with the UE Material Graph? We have so many options, but I want the best outcome.
@sarkamari Жыл бұрын
The best way to do it is to sort out your model +uvs in Blender and construct the shaders in UE from scratch. With that you can establish the physical attributes of your shaders inside UE (dielectric, conductive) so the look dev can be done correctly. Hope this helps
