i am using 5.4 in this tutorial. I have not tried this technique with 5.5 yet

For UE 5.5 Remove the hair first then do the face. Copy the hair from your metahuman bp and paste it in the character bp's mesh in the viewport, then move the hair to the face. (If you paste the hair in the body, you will crash so it must be pasted in the mesh before moving it to the face) If you paste the hair and it renames all the hair. Just copy the hair from the metahumans bp and paste it again in the characters bp If you are using the medium / low optimized metahuman. Then you will need to delete the LOD SYNC from the Character BP and copy the one from your Metahuman BP after doing the steps above
