A3 has Germany and Netherlands in the same group, along with Hungary, while A4 pits Switzerland and Serbia in the same group as defending champions Spain. Of course, Germany and Hungary were destined to be the classic matches. Same group in Euro 2020, same group in Nations League 2022/23, same group in Euro 2024, and now, same group in Nations League 2024/25.

Great info for explaining England's chance of getting promoted to League A. But League A has several titanic fixtures, like Italy vs France, Italy vs Belgium, Croatia vs Portugal, Belgium vs France, and Germany vs Netherlands.

I reckon Greece can clearly challenge England in this group. They've been promoted from League C from the last edition, and have come off a great Euro qualifier campaign, drawing with France 2-2 at home (even though a French goal wasn't given in the absence of goal-line technology) and losing 1-0 by a penalty in Paris. They also lost to the Netherlands 1-0 at home by a 93rd-minute penalty. I see England topping the group, but possibly with a draw or two. Don't underestimate Greece, they are tough opponents to have. No match is won beforehand, and I hope the Three Lions will keep their humility throughout this campaign.

England should comfortably win this group in my opinion. We have the better squad depth compared to all these other nations. My only concern is Southgate.

@Thomas-zs5wt it actually decides your seedings for future draws, and gives England the chance to win a major trophy. We have won one trophy in 60 years at senior level, what England fan would not want to see us win this. Prior to this there were countless meaningless friendlies. The nations league is one of the best things uefa has done in years. It should also mean you test yourself against similar teams in a competitive game more regular.

@ChannelEnglandFootballCEF if you want to win a trophy in a useless competition that spans across a whole season has all the group games played in 3 months then they dont play in the nations league until pretty much the end of the season, plus it goes from a boring group stage straight to a semi finals and then a final tbh i dont like this tournament and i would rather win something thats more important and that the fans will remember like a euro or world cup rather than thiis because if you notice the players dont really care about this tournament we went from scraping wins before the world cup in this tournmant to battering teams in the world cup
