(2) In the first fight it almost worked and I honestly thought the same would happen this time. But Silva found his chance when Sonnen tripped and did exactly what he had to do. Kudos to Silva but don't dismiss Sonnen. Sonnen has shown that he's capable of dominating any fighter and I think he deserves to have that title as much as anybody. Everybody can get rocked, that's just the way it is.

Damn ... I was one of the guys cheering Sonnen and I really hated to see him lose - but I admit that Silva did a good job. I think it's a shame to see all of the people here dismissing Sonnen. Sonnen is the kind of fighter who goes in and tries to dominate the opponent whilst Silva goes for openings and tries to finish. Personally, I love the dominating wrestling style that fighters like Sonnen and Couture represent but sometimes it just doesn't pan out.

Silva only got about 3 or 4 hits in the first round, Sonnen dominated it. The only difference between that and the first match is that Silva was defending better, then Silva was up against the cage, Sonnen tried a flimsy spinning elbow, missed and that was really it. When everybody says Sonnen got beat they sound like idiots because that was far from a beat down. Silva was scared going into the fight, he tried not to show it but I could see right through him.

actually the last part of that isnt true. in the first fight, he said he was going to take silva down and pound on him. he did that. he actually took silva down and dominated him for almost the whole fight. stats showed that silva had never been hit that many times in his whole career. the only things sonnen didnt do was beat him, retire him, or get the belt. yes hes a great trash talker and a surprisingly good rhymer, but when it comes to fighting, he CAN back up what he says but NOT everytime

You forgot to mention Sonny Liston, Ken Norton, George Foreman, Joe Frazier and Leon Spinks, he also trash talked the shit out of them too. In fact, looking back on it, Ali trash talked and ring taunted the shit out of pretty much every fighter who posed a significant threat, he simply didn't need the extra edge over the rest. He event went as far as to go to Joe Frazier's gym to trash talk him during workouts and you say he only did it because he could back it up and they couldn't.
