Vitor did let go that arm, if he really wanted, he would have snapped that arm big time... He had a perfect grip, and he did not extend to the fullest of his ability, when he felt something was popping he must have thought that it would be just a matter of seconds and that Jon would have tapped... I respect Jon Jones, but I really wanted Vitor to win, and I would have not minded that arm broken!

Dana killed them except it is true that Brock Lesnar was the #1 attraction at the time. GSP hasn't been promoted and he's wasn't as popular as Brock even though he had done it longer than Brock.

its just fact the majority of people is not entertained by a flyweight bout. How many legendary boxers do we know in flyweight division? yeah, none. we want to see big strong scary guys, no boys which you could send to next state with one decent field goal kick. a subcompact is no cadillac and never will be

Dana is not your typical company President. His attitude and dameaner come off just the right way for an MMA fight promotor. Males 24-35 can relate to him and that''s why he's so popular. I also agree, anyone who thought that flyweight fight wasn't entertaining is either on dope or dog food.

***** So did Cormier, we probably read the same articles regarding this subject but it also states that it depends the time of day that they tested him. For example, if they tested him later during the day his testosterone will be lower and if its earlier in the day it will be higher. Yes people will suspect TRT which causes your body to stop produces its natural testosterone but considering how Overeem looked while he was juicing and how he currently looks or Vitor for that matter, when did Jones look like he was juicing? He's always been skinny plus Overeem had a similar frame to Jones when he fought at 205.

i disagree with you... THE worst thing u can do is diss the fans on not liking your product... bottom line is that UFC at the gate in toronto didn't do great sales.. TUF show on fx is at a all time low at its raitings.. and top of that u make diss the fans? the flyweight fight (i went to see the event live)... wasn't the best fight... especially when the belt was on the line... us fans have the right to say if it wasn't good or not.. so the next fight that does happens... the fighters steps up..

Dude, I am not the one taking it personal at all, I loved the Flywieght fight, I do not find it WISE AT ALL that Dana White with his position goes about his rant like a little street kid who is emotionally scarred by people's remarks on the internet... He has to respect the opinions of people and let it go. Insulting a paying audience is never a good thing... Let him keep going with that attitude and you will see. The internet and its audience is not forgiving...

standing elbows are great which he does, they take more skill. short bumping elbows on the ground can open cuts and end fights early and are boring to watch imo, it can also allow more stalling because of holding position. bla blah blah, i'm just not a fan of elbows on the ground to how it makes for texture in fights. i like pride and old strikeforce rules. my opinion and a lot of mma fighters alike, ken shamrock, nick diaz...

elbows translate to punches? i'm not sure how your empahsizing a point or as to why i'm bringing up the elbows. his elbows are a huge part of his game. on the ground. without it, he wouldn't have caught machida and cut him, he wouldn't have cut vitor, it would change the game entirely. not to mention the grappling aspect and worrying about elbows and not worrying about elbows. many factors to how it would affect. could he still do ok, sure, but without it i believe nowhere near as good

I loved the the Flyweight fight, but I did not like Dana White insulting the fans... You go on Twitter and you see that stuff? Common, who cares who loves what? Some statements like "don't watch it, I don't want your money" should never be expressed in public. If you are aware, in this internet era, stuff like that can hurt you badly... You can't challenge your audience, those very people who pay for your shows and who support you... Take some criticism and be nice in return.

Yepp, u would say that cos u didn't watch the fight with the eye of a fighter but the eye of a fan. Vitor gave it his all. He wasn't "trying" to survive, if he didn't do anything too offensive it wasn't because he didn't want to but because he couldn't. People think fighting Jon will be a walk in the park till they are face to face with him, then it's "Oh shit" Vitor was an old lion in that fight, he brought it... Jones was just muchhh better.
@BTAKVE

I agree with dana 100% whoever really respects fighting as a sport would have loved that fight. I mean it was technical, fast paced, good mix of strikes (incredible striking at that) and wrestling, just picture perfect from Johnson. How can Canadians hate that fight but love to see GSP just lay on people and hump their leg for 5 fucking rounds with an occasional good jab. When was the last time we saw GSP fight instead of ducking people anyway I honestly forgot when his last fight was.

I think there are just alot of people that dont want to watch two guys that couldnt knock each other out with cement fists dance around. I didnt think it was a bad fight - i just dont like watching the lighter weight classes for that reason. I like the striking element that someone could knock the other person out.

ppl like u annoy me. the guy is very young and reached fam very fast. he is just starting to lern the media which isint easy for anybody and i think he is doing a great job. plus he has done more in the Ufc in like 4 years then some hall of famers do in there career. plus every hater of his and gsp brings up their size advantage but u dont realize that Silva is just as big for his weight class. all u haters got to say is just gibberish get over it he had a great fight and proved himself again

well i think wht it is with Jones is bc he is still very young and he reached his fame very fast and his fan bas is very shaky he has some big fans and some ppl who hate him and ppl who r on the fence. personally he if my fave fighter with GSP but i think he wants to be liked and respected so he is very cautious with wht he says bc he is just starting to l get use to and learn the media. as he gets older i think he will express his personalty more but will be a nice guy

e in his position should not get emotional over tweets, for god's sake, why act like a cry baby and insult the fans? And say arrogant and bold stuff like I don't want your money..I mean if he had to say this at every press conference when fans tweet criticism, come tell me how many pay per views the UFC will have in a year's time.. I agree with the the flyweight fight was amazing, the speed, the techniques, all the beauty of a highly technical fight, but I do not agree with Dana White, for his own sake, it's not wise to insult paying audience, no matter how well the UFC IS DOING, that kind of arrogant attitude Dana displays is a non no for someone who is the highest representative of an organization... It's not that I don't like watching Flyweights; I just don't like watching DJ. There are fighters that bore me in every division. Since entering the UFC, I can't recall him threatening to finish his opponent even once. Using his speed to avoid and smother two fighters I normally enjoyed watching - Yamamoto and Torres - may have made a bad first impression.
