Cmon Dana Belfort & Silva were feeling each other out, then Belfort had enough and went in landed couple of shots, got a slight takedown then when Silva got up BOOM sniper kick. Its not as if Vitor didnt show nothing, he showed he was ready and simply 'got caught' as they say. Also shame on screwing Okami out of a title shot yet again, poor guy has waited long enough but its all about $ with Dana. Also Bones cannot prepare to fight Shogun in 1 month cmon, he will get humbled via KTFO.

I don't understand how people can start to boo a title fight within the first 2-3 minutes. Honestly, I don't think you should ever expect anything to happen in the FIRST round of a FIVE round fight. Especially the first 2 minutes. The fight actually starts at the 3 minute mark of the first round. Last night was just a fortunate night that something did happen in the first round.

@Allcombatsports Those were 2 completely different fights. GSP got clipped, it happens. He didn't get dominated for 23 minutes. Also, that Vera statement was complete irrelevant as well. He was getting pressured against the cage, not getting brutalized by over 200 punches. Chael's shit IS together when it comes to MMA. He's great, even if he does lose, he makes a statement that he can kick ass.

@BadConquedence i agree that GSP has very good wrestling but he hasn't faced anyone has big as anderson or as technical. and don't forget that GSP is going to have to put on weight for that fight. nobody knows how that is going to affect is strength or his cardio. I just don't see him holding anderson down for 5 rounds without getting submitted. anderson will light him up on the feet and probably get back up after being taken down.

He has won in every possible way : he stopped people with kicks, punches, knees and elbows standing up, from the clinch and on the ground. He submitted people on top and on his back. He won decision while leading the whole fight and also came from behind to remain champion. He's a winner and he is the most spectacular fighter on the planet.

@ATACXGYM GSP's takedowns were thwarted by Kos, but only because Kos is a world class wrestler. Anderson is not Anderson does not have the wrestling ability of kos and so won't be as proficient at avoiding his takedowns. The blueprint to beating Anderson is what Sonnen did. Now GSP is more athletic, explosive and an all round much better fighter than Sonnen. The fact that Anderson couldn't handle just the wrestling aspect of Sonnen's game means hes going to face big problems against GSP.

It could be an excuse for a bad performance. I take your point about Anderson stopping Hendo's takedowns but hendo is much older than GSP much less of an athlete; GSP is the most explosive fighter in MMA No one can stop GSPs takedowns, even NCAA1 wrestlers can't I dont see Anderson either.

@mma850 I said a blue print not a complete one on how to beat Silva. I don't expect GSP to strike with Silva that's just dumb. I'll be serious Silva will kill GSP on the feet. Sonnen got caught in a triangle cause his jujitsu is horrible (if he even has any, I doubt it.) If GSP can do exactly what Sonnen did and nut hug Silva for 5 rounds, he'll squeeze out a victory easy. Plus GSP is a black belt in BJJ so don't think he'll get caught easily like Sonnen. That's just my thoughts.

GSP is not only a better wrestler than Sonnen he is a better all round fighter than him too. Plus he is a master tactician and you can bet he will have a game plan to take out Silva: Take him out of his comfort zone, don't let him settle and ground and pound him for five rounds I think its going to be more one sided than people think.

George walks around at like 200- 210. making the jump to mw would be beneficial since George would'nt have to cut so much weight. Secondly, Anderson has had trouble with wrestlers before in the past. I think Silva will just pick him apart standing, overwhelm him, and KO, TKO him unless GSP gets him to the ground quickly.. He destroyed Okami and Marquardt, who are some of the best grapplers in MMA. Pounded on Paulo Filho, who, besides Demian Maia and Roger Gracie, is probably the best Jiu-Jitsu guy in MMA. Even though Chael was submitted, he was making Silva his bitch in that fight, landing more shots than Silva has ever been hit in his career.

silvas already defeated two greco olympian calibure wrestlers in sonnen and henderson. not only that but he rocked hendo and chael which is rare seeing how bith of them have GREAT chins. chael has never been rocked except by silva in prob his whole mma career and hendo has buckled to the likes of rampage and wanderlei while brawling but silva some how some way will find ur chin. i dont see gsp winning against silva

@JayMunozMMA interesting match up that would be. I dont think jon jones will beat shogun but thats cuz shogun is my favorite fighter so thats only my opinion. Machida would have to beat a few ppl to fight jones if jones gets the title. Evans should still have a shot at the title holder whoever that may be, and dana has said rampage is on his mind for a title shot given he beats thiago silva .

Dana White's an idiot when it comes to valuing Anderson Silva's excitment factor. I stood up on my feet when I saw Silva starting to move his hands and his head like in his previous fights. That's when I knew he was in the zone and ready to kill. And Vitor isn't the guy that backs away like Maya, Leites and Cote. And then when the kick came.. I literally dropped my jaw. I was blown away. Never seen anything like that. He always pulls off these crazy moves, like the back elbow on Tony Fryklund.

@c9mavrick no he didnt. both of them were a bit gunshy starting out Belfort hit Anderson first and landed a few punches and kicks before getting a takedown. Nobody saw that kick commin to his face he was gonna take it to the body and try to use his hand speed to tag Silva while he was close. would u still be standin if Silvaa kicked u like that? dont think so. if ya dont like it dont watch

@jimmygilhooley1 Torres has been fighting as a pro for 12yrs and is a former WEC Bantumweight champ I personally dont think jitters got him. Torres fought smart and was engaging the entire time he had a 13in reach advantage and better striking abillity so of course he stayed of the outside and stuck to the gameplan Banuelos got a broken nose and wasnt trying to close distance to swing the fight in his favor it could have been better but I liked it lots of skill and experiance by Torres

vitor did the one thing you dont do with silva..give him room to hit you or give him room to "think" about what he is gonna do. the one thing chael did right and others need to learn, is that you go forward. silva is amazing and in my opinion the number 1 fighter. if anyone can beat him gsp might. he is a smart fighter. having said that...im sure he wont give silva alot of room to do his thing. will be a great fight. good time in mma. @brocklesner91 so true! SP is very talented, and one of the best fighters in the world but Anderson Silva is just so much bigger than GSP. If Anderson Silva vs GSP must happen, I really think GSP should get a warm up middle weight fight like Okami. i dont know why but i feel if he fights Anderson Silva after beating Jake Sheilds he will lose, GSP has a chance to beat Anderson Silva but I think its a very slim chance.

I think GSP beats Anderson just from seeing how the Sonnen fight went. GSP is a better wrestler than Sonnen and he also has better submission defense. He'll just grind it out on the ground like Sonnen did, but more efficiently and without getting submitted. Anderson does some of the most amazing things, but he can sometimes do some unamazing things. I think he'll be unamazing against GSP.

@jdouglasusn you knowing or not knowing the champs does not mean anything, its the sponsors that bring the money in and the big sponsors like NIKE, REEBOK etc.. will not want to be assoiciated withh mma for the reputation of there company. so the UFC get sponsors like TOM, DICK, HARRY and TAPOUT. oh yeah and they got UFC Undisputed

@iM0nst3r I also recall Silva saying something along the lines of "Who is Sonnen? He's a joke. I'll knock him out." Didn't happen though, did it? Again though, it wasn't a broken rib coming into the fight, so it's Silva's fault for getting taken down. Is it embarrassing that Liddell got KO'd by Franklin with a broken arm though? I haven't heard one person comment on that.

@sisudo21 I wouldn't think anyone would look foolish if they got taken down while they had a rib injury unless they fell funny. And it looks even more foolish when you have a fight in the bag in the close minute of the fight to a guy off his back who has a broken rib. Not only does that look foolish it'd be damn embarrassing. Especially if you talked shit the way Chael Sonnen.
