Good analogy. You are never ready for a car accident. You can't duplicate a fight in training camp. You can work on cardio and techniques, but bodies collide in the octagon like cars.

Yeah I realize Diaz is the underdog but I think he can win and I hope he does. The great thing about MMA is you can't always predict exactly what will happen. Especially with someone like Diaz who may not do a lot of flashy moves but has shown a lot of toughness. A lot of people thought Frank Shamrock would beat Diaz too, but their jaws just dropped when Diaz beat him down.

I agree. Daley is the #1 P4P fighter in the world right now, and only because Fedor isn't fighting anymore. Diaz was lucky to make it out of that fight alive.
@iiwatcher12 жыл бұрын
I understood him perfectly. yes, he rambles on. He's not known for talking. He's not Chael Sonnen. He doesn't even like doing it, but he's trying. He's known for bringing it every time and ducking no one. I am big fan, but I agree GSP will probably win, unless Diaz has truly realized how necessary it is to alter one's approach to adapt to certain fighters. GSP will play it safe, and dry hump his way to another victory, as always.

Nick has beat some of the best heavy hitters in the mma game. he walked forward and took the out. he could have held the ufc belt at one point like he said. I think stylistically this is interesting, GSP with a solid boxing/karate base and the most insane wrestling (especially since he was never a collage or university wrestler ... vs ... Diaz with a super slick boxing style and karate of his own, mixed with the counter style to wrestling in jiu-jitsu - both excellent fighters in their dominant and/or preferred positions and both being basically the Yin to the other's Yang

Diaz has good kicks sure he doesn't use em often but wen he does it's some nice kicks, alot of people have the wrong image of Diaz, he's really a cool guy I've watched Diaz for awhile he's a true fighter with tremendous skill. I hope he proves everybody wrong I like george but I wouldn't mind seeing Diaz get the belt
@spartanelite30012 жыл бұрын
Hey man, why you hating on GSP? I get you're not a fan of his style but he's still one of the best. He's a very dominant fighter and saying he just dry humps for 5 rounds is asinine. He's humble too. Nick even says in this interview that it's hard to hate the guy and he actually likes him. I'm hoping Nick wins but there's no shame in respecting an opponent.

To say Diaz beat Condit is to say octagon control is more important than strikes, power strikes, strategy, and physicality. Face it folks-Diaz shoulda grabbed Condit-but he couldnt bc Condit hit/kicked every time he got close. Thats called neatralizing ur oponents strengths. I truly appreciate all his fans blind and unwavering support, but they get way to wrapped up in his tough guy talk. And I personally respect the shit out of his skills.

I don't think ppl understand just how good Nick is on the ground,they think GSP will just take him down and do what ever he wants.I don't think it will be like that at all,yes, GSP will take him down but Nick will give him all he can handle on the ground.
@lordkira979112 жыл бұрын
I like the Diaz brothers. The only problem I have with them is that they go overboard with trash talking sometimes. Other than that, they're honest and exciting and aren't douchebags. I do, however, believe he's going to get dominated by GSP just because of the ground game difference.

It all comes down to style match ups and preparedness... not styles. When will people learn this? Should be a good match up since Nick has great stamina and seemingly an indestructible face. I can see Nick's argument since he is so durable and can last through George, but don't single out one style as unfair. St. Pierre is careful, and wearing down most opponents when the final round ends. It's not like he WANTS to stay out there. I don't need the K.O. or submission to know what's happening!
@JeffPenaify12 жыл бұрын
Man Nick is one of my favorite fighters,but I don't think id put money on him over GSP, if we're talkin dollars I couldn't make that bet. GSP is a great fighter and he know the scoring system perfectly. If Diaz does the same old and tries to brawl, I dont know if he will win.
@dgd1ego11 жыл бұрын

@abbeykroeter12 жыл бұрын
...what about knees to the head on the ground? Head butts? Banned. That limited wrestlers tremendously, since their style put them into position (and physically they were gifted) for using them. With rounds, sometimes a jiu-jitsu hold is interrupted, striking is interrupted, but ALSO wrestling is interrupted; we've seen fights where the wrestler is out-positioning and cracking the guy worse and worse, and the round ends as things were getting ugly... or what about...
@GODTHESOOTHSAYER112 жыл бұрын
Nick is getting better, he almost sounds intelligent.
@willenglish363412 жыл бұрын
I see this going one of two ways, either Nick starts to work GSP's body taking away from his cardio and eating him up in the later rounds or GSP will get hit in the face and instantly take him down and stall for the remainder of the fight. Nick has a better chance of finishing GSP then GSP has to finish Nick. AND you better expect some slick sub attempts once Diaz is on his back.
