I dont think taking a fight with Eddie is a good choice for Conner. His best oportunity is to beat Eddie is to counterpunch him when he throws his haymaker brawler punches. Best strategy for Connor would be leg kicks (same as vs Nate in the last fight) to slow Eddie down and keep the fight standing and picking his punches, counter punching and staying far enough from Eddie to avoid getting taken down and maximizing his long reach power shots. Its crucial for Connor to work on take down defense. He did have trouble defending the takedown in the past against wrestler Chad Mendes and going up in weight he will be facing a stronger wrestler with more cardio. Moving backwards against a pressure fighter like Eddie however can drain your cardio pretty rapidly and thats a huge weakness in Connors game. If Eddie decides to take him down, he should be able to with his wrestling background and if it goes to the ground I dont think Connor has the ground skills to defend against Eddies wrestling background. The best strategy for Eddie would be to check the leg kicks and yes there will be lots of leg kicks (that has been a weakness in Eddies game in the past and I guarantee Connor and John noticed that), try to cut off the angles in the Connors backward movement while keeping the pressure on him to burn down his cardio, stay either farther away from Conners range or close inside and take the fight to the ground. The brawler punches he throws make him very susceptible to a counter punch from Connor. However, Connor has punching power and you can never count a puncher out of the game. Its hard to say how effective his power will be vs Eddie who appart from having an excellent chin also recovers rapidly from getting hurt. Earlier rounds will go to Connor and if he can put Eddie to sleep in those early rounds or if he can do enough damage to hurt Eddie and slow him down early in the fight, then he will have the advantage. Overall I think Eddie has an advantage being the heavier wrestler and overall well rounded fighter, the longer the fight goes the better it will be for Eddie if he can endure Connors early storm and put Connor on his back.

Angel King I see what you're saying, but don't fully agree. Khabib has an impressive record, but he's only beaten a couple of quality opponents, has only fought a few times in the last few years due to injuries, didn't look that great in his last fight and has ducked a few people himself (Cerrone). I'm apparently one of the few people that thinks his style is perfect for McGregor: aggressive and a little sloppy. Obviously if he gets ahold of you you're in for a long night, but that jumping, swinging wildly, going HAM style is tailor made for McGregor. With Aldo, combine everything I wrote earlier with the fact that he fought a super cautious, kind of boring fight against Edgar and I can see why the UFC went the direction they did. Again, I can see why a bunch of people think it's bullshit though.
