At around 7:20 when Dana is talking about Cody and TJ, you can see it in his face when he's done talking that he really is genuinely disappointed about how everything turned out between those two. They really invested in Cody with everything including giving him an immediate rematch when he never defended it once! That proves they wanted Cody as champion more than Dillashaw. Now their plans are ruined. Haha
@stevenst6337

Not necessarily wanted Cody as champion but definitely wanted him to win so that it sets up a triology and another big drama fight for another ppv card

The hell with superfights. There's Sergio Pettis vs Henry Cejudo II that could happen or Joseph Benavidez vs Henry Cejudo II that could happen. Pettis just beat Benavidez,but Pettis lost to Cejudo on 12/2017. Benavidez beat Cejudo, but that was way back in 12/2016. Raphael Assuncao beat Dillashaw way back in 2013 and is on a 4 fight winning streak. He should be next. Cruz's last fight was a loss and he hasn't fought in 2 years so he doesn't deserve a title shot. It should be Marlon Moraes vs Cruz.

@damvid21 6 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear him say that about Holland, it's good to see fighters rewarded who put performance over safety. Holland could have turned that fight down or just hugged onto Santos for 15 mins, but he was exciting and dangerous instead - even when he was gassed. He may have officially lost, but you can guarantee that internally the UFC will chalk that down as a win for him in terms of his standing with the company.

The most dominant champion in history loses his title to that crap performance. I can't think of a single significant strike Henry landed. People still winning fights in 2018 by taking someone down and holding them there. Landing zero damage and zero threats of submission.

brian griffith - When the fight is that close, takedowns can make the difference, although it looked like he was just laying on him, its still controlling ur opponent and having a dominant position, and it steals rounds.

AMEN... Pot shots seem to be completely erased by wild exchanges. DJ lands flush leg kick Henry clips arms throwing back and it's considered a 50/50 exchange. DJ lands 8 or 9 flush leg kicks completely unanswered counts for nothing. Dj darts in on a straight, ducks and slips the counter and lands a hook barely scores? I have NO idea how you can be educated about MMA and judge that for Henry.

If you're honest.. TJ made Cody look b-class (now you can say in the 1st fight too). Cody should've never spoke about conditioning chins, the serpent that bit his own tail.
@lindseyelizabeth8877
@lindseyelizabeth8877 6 жыл бұрын
ay den Cody was shot to the top of the division due to his affiliation with Uriah and alpha male and their beef with Cruz at the time. He had a lucky win over Cruz and became champ but had not been tested by the divisions upped echlon. TJ has exposed him badly and it’s going to take a lot of work for him to come back from this. He should drop down in the rankings to 5-6 imo. TJ made him look like a flat footed rookie with zero fight iq, as well as someone who doesn’t learn from losses and can’t/ chooses not to evolve. He needs to leave alpha male like TJ did to get to that next level. Right now TJ is light years ahead of him and thoroughly exposed and embarrassed Cody. He had zero business fighting for a title any time in the near future.
@aydan0161
@aydan0161 6 жыл бұрын
Lindsey Elizabeth was not a lucky win over Cruz at all.. That was a complete clinic of a performance.. Cruz obviously doesn't hold that knockout power that TJ does
@lindseyelizabeth8877
@lindseyelizabeth8877 6 жыл бұрын
ay den I know what you are saying- it wasn’t a fluke punch against Cruz or anything of that sort- however I felt that wasn’t the best version or Cruz, not the same cruise that beat TJ via split decision... my point is how he even got that title shot- I don’t believe he did enough to deserve it. He got it anyways- ended up beating Cruz and became champion. Based on that one win he was deemed the next coming in the 135 lb division. I just don’t think it was warranted or that he was even ready to be champion... I believe TJ has proven that and in the long run this is the worst thing that could have happened for Cody. Had he gotten more experience by fighting more high ranked fighters prior to that fight with Cruz it ready could have served him well. It looked like he literally learned nothing from that 1st loss to TJ- he made no adjustments and ended up being embarrassed. Cody’s only weapon seems to be his left hand which is easy for his opponents to see coming based on the weak set up with the right hand. He needs to go back to the drawing board and completely change his game plan and adjust his style, because if he continues to fight this way I think everyone in the top 5 will beat him. Where do you think he goes from here? Do you think he’s far ahead of the other top 5-7 bantamweights? I don’t see it...if I’m missing something please do explain- I invite other opinions that may show I’m missing something :)
