@BradensBeard37 ай бұрын
Realistically he wouldn’t have got knocked out if he was just fighting a “normal fight.” Was in a weird situation where he knew he’d lose the decision and max gave him a chance to win so he took it because he had nothing to lose. Easily could’ve made it through that without being KO’ed. Not like he was winning the fight and got sparked randomly cause his chin didn’t hold up. I get I’m splitting hairs but it would feel a lot different getting clipped if you got KO’ed in a fight you were winning. In this fight Justin obviously knew he was being reckless but there was nothing to lose. He wasn’t getting the decision.

Winner of Chandler vs Mcgregor = Max's first BMF title defense makes the most sense in my opinion

I don’t know why people want to see McGregor fight anymore. The magic has been long gone, and he is approaching 36 so it’s likely to get worse. He hasn’t looked like a killer since the Alvarez fight, and that was over 8 years ago

Max landing that kick and the end of the 1st round changed the whole fight. Justin got caught a few times just like that…ducking to low. He couldn’t fight how he likes to
@zealpulses38267 ай бұрын
Gaethje fought the same way he always does. Ducks while guarding, ducks blindly throwing wild loopy shots and random doing a rolling thunder lol. That's the reason he lost to Oliveria. Everytime he ducked Oliveria throw a knee to the face. This time Max just did spinning wheel kicks. Same effect. Gaethje has really bad defensive in the striking. Trevor needs to correct that. The jab can only take you so far.

I think if its very active mix of TD and striking and not holding onto positions with fast scrambles it qualifies.
@Nathaniel-Sr7 ай бұрын
Agreed bro which is why I believe Justin didn't shoot, because it's BMF for a reason.. When the thought of this belt was being pondered, at the time Nate and Jorge were the perfect/idea fighters. No grappling, wrestling, submissions, etc etc, just pure stand-up. They aren't fighting for the actual titles in whatever divisions/weight chosen, they're fighting to prove who's the baddest. Salute to both guys for delivering, and staying true to it.

Max isn’t the wrestler Justin is but I really don’t see any reason to believe with conviction that if Justin would have taken Max down Max would have been toast. Between the two Max seems to have the slicker ground game or at least would have just stood up. With that said maybe it could have opened up Max to a big shot.
@BobSmith-qh1ej7 ай бұрын
Exactly man max doesn’t have the career he’s had without a great take down defense. Watch the first 2 volk fights and see how hard it was. To say that Justin 100% could take him down isn’t a for sure thing. Max imposed his best style and obviously had a great game plan for Justin. He didn’t just wing it and bang. Max was prepared it and carried out the game plan to the tee

Im genuinely curious on Usman's opinion on Trevor's cornering. I feel like at times he is seriously downplaying when his fighter needs to make adjustments, particularly when they are losing. At times, I dont think he's aggressive enough to pump up the fighter and get them on the right pace. I have seen this a few times now, at least. I agree with Usman's talk about the wrestling. Justin shouldve wrestled.
@MMAOdin7 ай бұрын
Funny that toy say that cause ive been saying this exact same thing too. Trevor never seems to have a plan B, when plan A goes right, everything is perfect but as soon as plan A doesnt work, none of his fighters seem to be able to get the fight back in their hands

You might be right, but to play devils advocate with Justin in mind, he spent a while getting Justin to calm down and slow down and we’ve seen that can get the best Justin in the fight. Not saying the advice was right per se but I think if he gave Justin a big pump up speech Justin may get a bit reckless as we’ve seen in the past

Holloway TD would have caused Justin to get exhausted and finished earlier if he did that. There's no way in hell Justin would ever be able to hold him down for long if at all not to mention he will never want to do that. Max has always been notorious for good TD and recovery - dude always has popped straight back up.
