Favourable match ups are a helluva thing. Until I see Periera beat a quality grappler then he's just a champion kickboxer being fed strikers. Ankaliev will be the first real test he's had, if he nullifys Ankalievs grappling then I'll be impressed. His legs are there just waiting to be doubled lol

With Bisping, both make the pair. Neither of them is or has been great or smart fighters. Both are pawns of the UFC and don't speak their own mind. DC who was actually better at fighting has even worse takes because when he is not totally biased, he's a total yes man for the UFC. (including praising Jones and UFC had DC throwing flowers at Pico telling everyone how good and how great of a human being he is after Jones f'ed him up nastily... Twice!)
@dfpguitar18 күн бұрын
@@user-cw2nr2bz8iI agree with all of that except the DC praising Jones because of UFC. I think DC did that entirely for his own reasons. To get over his own rivalry, to move on. As an athlete to be honest about how talented Jon was. Jon didn't need the Picograms, he didn't really even need to train that seriously. DC tries to be the good mature role model dad-coach kinda guy.

Jamal still is delusional. He said HE GOT CAUGHT!!! Dude Alex set you up from the beginning of the fight... He had a plan and executed it perfectly. People talk about Jamal being underestimated but never talk about Alex being underestimated. He transitioned all his kickboxing skills to MMA perfectly and it's working for him. I personally want to see him fight someone with a solid ground game too, to see how he does. But still he nailed every milestone possible and still he's being undermined and underestimated.

Jan was very solid on the ground controlling Alex . He just didn't have the damage on the ground and submission threat needed to get Alex out of there. Ankalaev will be the biggest ground threat so far. Not just controlling but GnP and submission threats. If he doesn't sub or Tko Alex on the ground then I believe Poatan will get the tko victory .

I mean we can accept it (and I appreciate it too) but let's not pretend that both Izzy and Alex didn't hugely benefit from a lineup of fights to the title that contained almost ZERO high level grapplers.

There are no elite level grapplers on the top of the LHW division now, Ankalaev has 0 wins via submission. He's from Dagestan but that doesn't make him an elite level wrestler. Poatan can be beaten but not on the ground, he's big and now he has good TD defense.

Pereira's celebration is probably the coldest ... just absolute sheer mockery. It's insane that UFC 300 managed to have all these utterly insane moments...so much so that nobody is even talking about a fighter getting choked completely unconscious at the end of a round, and coming out for the next round...

And it's funny cause when you have someone who isn't a fan of polemics, like Tostao, who have been making great statements for so long and no one takes a look at his texts cause it doesn't get people to hate or love hahaha it's just pure analysis. He said things like "you can't compare Maradona to Pelé, you can compare Maradona to Ronaldinho Gaucho and Cristiano Ronaldo to Pelé, they are different kinds of players". And yeah idk why I brought that up, I agree with you 100%.
