Agreed, he did better than everyone expected, even though it was still basically a shutout. He came to fight, traded punches with Canelo, Canelo actually had marks on his face. He also got Canelo frustrated multiple times, they both started fighting dirty lol. I think those arm punches eventually got to Berlanga though, his power was nonexistent later in the fight, so I assume his arms were probably hurting from blocking a lot of Canelo's punches. I am so glad I bought UFC 306! I thought it was a good card from top to bottom. Did not disappoint. I disagree with the assertion that the main and co-main were boring. Nope. Speaking as a jiujitsu guy, I appreciated Grasso’s constant submission attempts, as well as Valentina’s wrestling and striking to counter Grasso. I was also biting my nails the whole time during the main event. I was waiting for Sean to fire that right hand that was always locked and ready. And, at the same time I was praying Merab to keep moving to find an angle for the shoot. My daughter and I enjoyed the PPV for the sphere. Its too bad Dana is already saying no for a repeat next year. Glad I was around to be a witness, albeit from my couch which was still very much entertaining. I had no problems giving up $70 for that early bird special price…

I appreciate Teddy giving Canelo his flowers. Alot of the hate Canelo got (still somewhat gets) from the Mexican fanbase and others is he doesnt/didnt brawl. He was/is not really a brawler. He has not gotten dropped and had to go through adversity. The people want to see him go trough more adversity. I think this is why Barrera, Marquez, Morales, Chavez, Finito Lopez, and many others are so respected. To succeed through adversity is the Mexican spirit. To succeed because of perseverance and heart is the Mexican Style of Boxing. One of the reasons Canelo has gotten my respect is because he is punching way above his weight class and at times making it look easy. Canelo got hate for not fighting Mexican Style (Brawling), so he switched up with triple G the second time. He "brawls" alot more now too. He got hate for not fighting smooth operators, and he defeated the likes of Saunders, Plant, Charlo, Jacobs. Also, he fought Bivol the most technically sound fighter. He continues to fight strong young undefeated fighters. He has proven himself time and time again. I hope he fights Benavidez, a fight which I think he wins. A hard earned win, but a win against David. After that I do not know how much more he can do other than officially moving up to light heavy. This man has basically fought everyone.

If he fights and beats Bivol in a rematch and even unify/go undisputed at 175 then I think he will go down as top Mexican fighter ever over Chavez

All does Mexicans Champions where lightweights, is different once you past the154lb. Canelo is the firts Mexicans to dominate in divisions no Mexican has ever dominate in. Plus Canelo has had to carry the traditional burden has delt with a social media criticism has had to be not just face of Mexican boxing but boxing overall. Teddy is cherry 🍒 picking, to many blind spots when using comparisons, and here's an example. Sanchez fought a Zuma who had 13 fights and got 2 weeks notice while traveling from Africa in the Garden😂 Lamatta knock Robinson out ring😂 there's so many examples. Canelo is not only the greatest Mexican fighter of all time, but he's in the top 20 of all times. Another thing the knock out don't come cause, fighters have prepare for Canelo there whole carrier😂 Endless video to study, like in football baseball and basketball, preparing for you.

If Crawford is serious about going up to 168 against Canelo, I'd like to see him vs Lara at 160 first while he puts the weight on for 168. Curious what the rest of the community thinks on that potential matchup. Could be another belt in a 5th weight class for Crawford and it seems like Canelo might be going a different route for May 2025 anyways. Maybe Bud goes back down to 154 after and unifies against the winner of Spence/Fundora.
